EX Liberate the Ancient Lab is one of the Expansion Pass battles that open after EX To Zelda’s Side. Monsters have seized the Royal Ancient Lab and are using weapons stolen from it, so Urbosa and Riju lead Gerudo troops through the Breach of Demise to take it back. You aid two Hylian Captains, reach the isolated soldiers, drive off Master Kohga and the Yiga Clan, and then clear every monster left in the lab.

Table of Contents
Before you start
The recommended level is 44, and your party is Urbosa and Riju, with the two of them switchable at any time. Bring your best fused weapons for both and a meal that boosts attack or experience, because this is a long battle that ends past 1,200 KOs. It can be played in any order with the other EX battles at this level, such as EX Battle for Kakariko Village.

Three Memory Quests are tracked in the pause menu while you fight. The enemy count comes on its own, but the wildberries and the Master Kohga condition need planning, so read the Memory Quests section below before you reach the Yiga Clan.

Aid the Hylian Captains
Reach the first Captain
Urbosa and Riju agree to meet the defenders first. Run to the Hylian soldiers, who are being swamped on an open field. The objective reads Aid the Hylian Captains and counts to 2, so you must reach both Captains.

When a Press Repeatedly prompt appears, mash the button it shows. Then defeat the Fire Moblin and the Black Moblin that are pressing the line. When the Black Moblin is the target, the objective changes to defeating it and rescuing the Captain.

Rescue the second Captain
Move on to the next group of soldiers and defeat the Blizzrobe, then the Electric Moblin behind it. Keep moving against the Electric Moblin, since its lightning covers a wide area. Once the second Captain is safe, the Gerudo and Hylian soldiers push forward together.

Head for the Hylian Soldiers
A banner tells you to hurry to where the Hylian Soldiers are. a Gerudo Captain offers to hold the monsters off so that Urbosa can run ahead, so switch to whichever warrior is closer to the objective marker. Waves of new monsters appear along the way, and Special Attacks clear the packed groups quickly.

A Meteo Wizzrobe blocks the road. Close in fast, break its weak-point gauge and finish with a Weak-Point Smash before its meteors cover the ground.

Master Kohga and the Yiga Clan
Yiga Blademasters
A banner announces that the Yiga Clan has appeared. Riju asks “What is the Yiga Clan doing here?!” and Urbosa replies, suspecting it was their aim from the start. Defeat the Yiga Blademaster first. Dodge its Flurry Rush chains and strike when its weak-point gauge opens.

Master Kohga boss fight
Master Kohga arrives calling a fight against a little kid child’s play, so this is Riju’s fight. Switch to Riju before you start hurting him and keep her in control until he is down. That is the condition of the Memory Quest Defeat Master Kohga with Riju.

Stay close, dodge or block his combos and attack whenever his weak-point gauge appears. A Weak-Point Smash from Riju takes off a big share of his health. When he falls, the Yiga Clan withdraws and a new objective appears.

Clear the Royal Ancient Lab
The new objective is to defeat the monsters threatening the Royal Ancient Lab. The counter starts at 0/5, climbs to 1/5, then jumps to 3/9 as more groups arrive. Your Gerudo and Hylian allies fight beside you now, so use Special Attacks to clear crowds.

Lynels and Moblins
The enemy sends Ice Moblins, Electric Moblins, an Ice Lynel and an Electric Lynel into the lab area. Take the Lynels one at a time: dodge their charges, attack as they recover, and finish each with a Weak-Point Smash. The Ice Lynel drops a Lynel Horn and Lynel Guts, which are worth picking up.

Silver Moblin and the final push
Urbosa calls for one last push, and a Silver Moblin is then marked as the last named enemy. Once it is in sight, clear the groups near the fences and the counter climbs through 11 to 12.

Guardian
As the monsters thin out, a banner warns that a Guardian has started to move. Keep clear of its attacks, break its weak-point gauge and finish it with a Weak-Point Smash. Defeat the last monsters around it, and the monsters retreat and the lab is saved.

Memory Quests
Defeat 1,000 or more enemies. This completes on its own if you keep fighting the side groups and use Special Attacks on crowds; the counter was only at about 400 when Master Kohga appeared. The reward is a Report: Hidden Battles and 10 Hearty Durian.

Obtain 4 wildberries. The berries come from crates, and the pause menu counts them out of 4. They sit in the east clearing before the Kohga fight, at the north entrance of the south-east area, at an outpost entrance south-west of the map centre, and on a wooden ledge in the south-west that you approach from the west. The reward is a Report: Hidden Battles, 30 Hydromelon and 30 Voltfruit.

Defeat Master Kohga with Riju. This shows as three question marks until you reach the Yiga Clan. Defeat Kohga while you control Riju, as described above. The reward is 3 Reports: Hidden Battles, 10 Topaz and 2,000 Rupees.
