EX Battle for Kakariko Village is a defense battle. Yunobo and Link fight on the ground while Daruk, aboard Vah Rudania, supports him from above, and you win by driving off the monsters and then beating Sooga of the Yiga Clan. You lose if Daruk or Yunobo flees or the village falls. There is no Korok Seed here, so the extras to chase are the three Memory Quests.

Before you start

The recommended level is 44. Bring Yunobo with your strongest weapon and a meal that restores hearts, since the battle runs about fifteen minutes and you will defeat hundreds of enemies. Check the Memory Quests list on the Allies screen before you begin so you know what to aim for.

Defend Kakariko Village

Defeat the Fire Moblin and their allies

Start by clearing the monsters swarming the village, led by a Fire Moblin and a Silver Moblin. Daruk keeps up fire from Vah Rudania, so concentrate on the large enemies with name bars first, then sweep the small ones.

Ice Moblin and the first Yiga Blademaster

When the first wave falls, Daruk spots a Yiga Blademaster among the attackers and guesses that the Yiga Clan is calling the monsters in. He tries to take it out with Rudania, but an Ice Moblin appears next to him and gets in the way. Defeat the Ice Moblin and Daruk deals with the Blademaster himself.

Defeat the Yiga Blademasters

Three more Yiga Blademasters appear near the village. Daruk cannot hit them with Rudania, so they are yours to handle. Use Weak-Point Smash and Flurry Rush when the prompts appear, and keep moving. A Hylian Captain thanks you for the help partway through.

Outposts and reinforcement enemies

While you fight, strong enemies appear beside Daruk and stop him from supporting you. Defeat the Silver Moblin and the Blizzrobe that invade the Allied Stronghold, one after the other. Each one you remove lets Daruk resume attacking and capture one outpost, so work through them quickly to keep every outpost safe.

Black Hinox and the final monster wave

With the Blademasters gone, Daruk and Yunobo expect the monsters to stop, but they do not. The objective changes to defeating the Black Hinox and key enemies, and a Black Hinox arrives first, followed by a Thunder Wizzrobe, an Electric Chuchu, a Fire Moblin and a Silver Moblin. The Hylian Captain says they will fall back to the village and hold the enemy advance.

Deal with the Wizzrobes and the Chuchu first, then take on the Black Hinox. Keep clear of its attacks, wear it down with strong attacks and finish it with a Weak-Point Smash when the prompt appears.

Sooga boss fight

Once the last key enemy is down, Sooga appears close to Daruk, and Yunobo realizes he was the one calling the reinforcements. Daruk orders you to take him out. Whenever you approach, Sooga teleports away and reappears near Daruk aboard Vah Rudania, so do not chase him in circles.

Keep fighting the minions and use the prompts that appear. Activate Magma and use Wall Jump to reach him on higher ground, then follow up with strong attacks. When Sooga falls, he apologizes to Master Kohga, and the battle ends.

Memory Quests

“Don’t allow monsters to break into the Kakariko Village outposts” asks you to keep invaders out of every outpost. Defeat the strong enemies that appear beside Daruk quickly, as they let monsters reach the outposts. Completing it gives 1 Report, 30 Rock Salt and 20 Goron Spice.

“Aid the overextended Hylian Captain” is completed during the Black Hinox stage by helping the Captain who struggles against the monsters. Fight near the Captain and defeat the enemies pressing on them until the quest shows as complete. Completing it gives 1 Report, 10 Raw Gourmet Meat and 10 Raw Whole Bird.

The third quest shows as “???” at first. It asks you to capture four outposts using Vah Rudania: defeat the enemy that Daruk flags next to him, then let Rudania fire on an invaded outpost, and repeat. Completing it gives 3 Reports, 10 Ruby and 2,000 Rupees.
