Mayam Shrine in the North Hyrule Sky Archipelago is sealed until you bring it a crystal. Follow the green beam from the shrine to the crystal, take it from the Flux Construct I that guards it, rig it with rockets so it can cross the gaps between the islands, and set it on the altar in front of the shrine.

Walkthrough

Examine Mayam Shrine

Land on the island that holds the shrine’s stone ring (Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower launches you to the islands, and Simosiwak Shrine is the nearest travel point). Walk up to the shrine’s empty stone ring and examine it. A voice asks for a crystal connected to a beam of light, and the beam in the sky points to the island where the crystal waits.

Reach the crystal and beat the Flux Construct

Glide from the shrine island down the beam to the large cross-shaped island to the south. A Flux Construct I patrols here and carries the crystal on its back. Its weak point is the block with the three eyes on it: pull that block off with Ultrahand and strike it. One successful hit is enough to knock the crystal loose, so you do not have to finish the fight, though clearing the Construct is safer. Once the crystal is free, pick it up.

Attach rockets to the crystal

The crystal has to get back up to the shrine island, which sits higher than where you found it. Build a small vehicle with Ultrahand, attach the crystal to it and fix three Zonai Rockets on it: the first points upward, the second also points upward (or diagonally toward the shrine), and the last faces the shrine island. Activate them one after another as you ride, and use Recall to adjust where the crystal comes down. Re-attach the crystal if it drops.

Offer the crystal at the shrine

Land at the shrine island, detach the crystal over the island, then carry it to the ring and set it down on the stone circle in front of the shrine. The shrine opens and its Light of Blessing becomes available. Go inside and open the chest for the Magic Rod, then take the Light of Blessing from the altar.

Rewards

  • Magic Rod (chest in Mayam Shrine)
  • Light of Blessing (Mayam Shrine)

Tips

You do not have to defeat the Flux Construct to take the crystal, but it is safer to clear it first. Mayam Shrine has no trial of its own: it is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine, so the quest is the challenge. If you have visited Simosiwak Shrine you can travel there and glide north instead of launching from the tower.
