Fugo, the apprentice at the Goron City forge, needs a Cobble Crusher, three Diamonds and five pieces of Flint to finish a Boulder Breaker. Bring them to him and he hands you the finished weapon, a heavy two-handed hammer that is great against rocky enemies.

Walkthrough

Talk to Fugo and Rohan at the forge

Cross the bridge to the workshop in Goron City where Rohan, the old smith, watches over his apprentice Fugo. Fugo sold off the materials he had for marbled rock roast and cannot finish the Boulder Breaker until he has a Cobble Crusher, three Diamonds and five Flint.

Collect the materials

The Cobble Crusher is a Goron weapon, and the quest consumes it. Guides place one in a chest in the Southern Mine cave south of Goron City and another in a chest near the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower; Bokoblins sometimes carry one too, and one guide suggests a Fire-like in the cave that holds Isisim Shrine. Diamonds are the slow part: they drop occasionally when you break ore deposits across Hyrule, some shrines give them as rewards, and a merchant in Goron City sells them (about 1,000 rupees each, per one guide). Flint is common on the surface, in the Depths and on sky islands, and also comes from rock deposits. Check your inventory before you go back, since all of the items are consumed.

Hand them over and take the weapon

Return to Fugo with the Cobble Crusher, three Diamonds and five Flint. He forges the weapon in front of Rohan and gives you the Boulder Breaker; Fugo then inherits the forge from his master.

Rewards

  • Boulder Breaker
  • Fugo will repair a broken Boulder Breaker if you bring the same materials again.

Tips

  • Carry a spare set (Cobble Crusher, 3 Diamonds, 5 Flint) so you can have the weapon rebuilt whenever it breaks.
  • The Boulder Breaker has a base attack of 38 and, like the Cobble Crusher, deals extra damage to the weak points of Talus and Frox.
  • The Boulder Breaker hits hard against Talus and other rock enemies, so it pairs well with your Eldin ore hunting.
