How to prepare
Food, elixirs and armor
Bring hearty meals, fairies and attack or defense elixirs, and wear fully upgraded armor if you can. A single blow is heavy.

How to fight
Stay close
Up close it uses heavy swings, a cross slash or a backward hop followed by a rush. Perfect Parry with a shield and one-handed weapon to open its guard, and strike when it staggers.

Use Stasis on the charge
Stop it with Stasis during a charge, let it run past you, then hit it from behind so you are not in the way of its weapon when it wakes. The effect is short, so work quickly.

Shoot the face
An arrow to the face stuns it, and a multi-shot bow makes that easier. Stasis also holds it still briefly, and if you get close enough you can mount it and strike for extra damage.

Dodge fire
It fires three blasts or creates an explosion. Run, or put a rock between you and it. If grass catches fire, the updraft lets you glide above it and shoot at its head.

Drops
- Lynel Horn, Lynel Hoof and Lynel Guts, used to upgrade armor, plus the weapon it carries (a sword, crusher, spear, shield or bow).
