Read the book in the Mountain Peak Log Cabin, which hints at a cold shadow. A pedestal near the cabin glows in the late afternoon; cast the shadow of a large snowball across its centre and the Suma Sahma Shrine appears nearby.

Go to the Mountain Peak Log Cabin and read the book. It starts the quest and hints at the pedestal.
Make a cold shadow
Small snowballs lie around the area. Roll one until it grows large enough, then hold it so that its shadow covers the centre of the glowing pedestal.
Wait for the light
The pedestal only glows for a short time in the late afternoon, around 4 PM. Keep the shadow on the pedestal until the shrine rises, then enter for a Spirit Orb.
