Keo Ruug Shrine (Fateful Stars) - Zelda: BotW Shrine Guide

Keo Ruug is a counting puzzle. Each sphere sits in front of a constellation, and you place it in the receptacle whose row has as many torches as that constellation appears on the far wall. Solve it once for the monk’s gate and a second time, with a new set, for the chest.

How to find it

The shrine is in Korok Forest, at the foot of the Great Deku Tree, so you must first find your way through the Lost Woods to reach the forest. Once there it is next to the Deku Tree.

Solution

Read the clue

Many sphere receptacles line both sides of the room, and an inscription on the stairs says to look to the stars for guidance. Facing straight ahead, the far wall shows constellations matching those in front of each column of receptacles. Each row of receptacles is marked by one to five torches.

Place the first set

Count how many times each constellation appears on the far wall and put its sphere in the row with that many torches. For the first set, from left to right, the spheres go to rows of five, three, one and two torches. The gate beyond opens to the monk.

Spot the second gate

Turn and look down the stairs on your right. A second sealed gate has more constellations. This one guards the chest.

Re-order the spheres

Move the spheres to match the new constellations. From left to right they go to rows of four, two, two and one torches. A gate opens onto a chest holding a Knight’s Claymore.

Claim the orb

With the chest taken, speak to the monk Keo Ruug for the Spirit Orb.
