How to find it
The shrine is on Thundra Plateau, west of Ridgeland Tower. The Trial of Thunder shrine quest starts as soon as you set foot on the plateau, and completing it makes the shrine appear.
Solution
Clear the blocks and drop the chest
Throw a Remote Bomb and detonate it to destroy all of the blocks in front of you. A metal box is revealed. Lift it with Magnesis and move it to your right so it knocks over a chest on the platform; the chest holds an Opal.
Find the hidden armour chest
From the floor, turn back toward the platform you entered on. A breakable block sits directly below the entrance. Blow it up to reveal a chest containing Rubber Armor, which grants shock resistance.
Expose the pressure plate
Bomb the blocks on both sides of the pyramid-like structure ahead to reveal a pressure plate beneath. It does nothing yet.
Raise the crate and cross
Use Magnesis to move the metal crate onto the low platform in front of the entrance, then go back up to the entrance. With the crate raised, jump across to the far side.
Place the crate on the plate
On the far side, lift the crate with Magnesis again and turn around to set it on the pressure plate. You cannot see the plate from here, so aim carefully; if you miss, climb to the second level and look down through the mesh floor. The gate to the monk opens and you receive the Spirit Orb.
