| Region | Hyrule Field (Dampé Studio) and Gerudo Desert (Tough Mango Plant Lab) |
|---|---|
| Location | Dampé Studio in Eastern Hyrule Field (start and finish); the part comes from the Tough Mango Plant Lab at the Gerudo Desert oasis |
| Quest giver | Dampé |
| Available | Dampé’s final commission: the journal offers “Get rich quick!” right after you finish Chop ’em in Two! |
| You’ll need | A Crow echo; the golden fan (Mango Rush prize, 10 rupees per round) |
| Reward | The Goldfinch (automaton that knocks rupees out of enemies and lets you glide) |
Dampé’s last automaton is “a sparkling gold automaton who really rakes in the dough.” He needs a Crow echo for the body and something shiny and flashy for the finish: the golden fan, which the researcher at the Tough Mango Plant Lab gives away for a good harvest in Mango Rush. The reward, the Goldfinch, knocks rupees out of enemies and doubles as a glider, and building it completes Dampé’s set of six automatons.
How to Start
Finish Chop ’em in Two! in Dampé Studio, Eastern Hyrule Field, then read the journal on his desk again and choose “Get rich quick!”. The concept reads “A sparkling gold automaton who really rakes in the dough.” Dampé says “Bring me that crow, will ya?” He figures the critter would look dandy all glittering gold, so he’ll need “a real special flashy somethin’.” He thinks he met a Gerudo who has “a real shiny thing,” and if memory serves, she was researching something at the oasis in Gerudo Desert. He writes it in his journal and the “Get Rich Quick!” side quest banner appears.

Walkthrough
Step 1: Show Dampé a Crow
Summon a Crow on the metal pedestal in the studio. Crows roost on high ledges in Hyrule Field; you can learn one on the grassy ledges just north of Lake Hylia. Dampé says “Hmmm… Lemme have a gander…” and then “We’re so close to a real zingy automaton!” The quest updates. If you already own the golden fan, skip straight to Step 5.

Step 2: Visit the Tough Mango Plant Lab
Travel to the oasis in Gerudo Desert and enter the Tough Mango Plant Lab, a cushioned room with a patterned blue rug; the harvest field is downstairs. The golden fan is on display on the stand to the left. The researcher explains “I won that golden fan there by placing first in a dance competition judged on elegant choreo,” and is willing to part with it if you help out with Mango Rush. When asked what type of seeds you’d like to use, choose “Vibrant seeds.” The participation fee is 10 rupees; answer “Yes.”

Step 3: Harvest 50 or more mangoes
Head downstairs to the field and wait for “Let’s get started!” The researcher warns that vibrant seeds sprout sharp thorns, and the goal on this round is to harvest 50 or more mangoes out of 60. The plants pop up in clusters across the sunken dirt field; spin to harvest a whole cluster at once and keep moving before they wither. The counter at the top of the screen tracks your total. A harvest of 52 is enough for the prize.

Step 4: Receive the golden fan
Back upstairs the researcher is impressed: “I didn’t think you’d be able to harvest so many from those seeds!” Then: “To thank you, I’ll give you my golden fan.” “You got a golden fan!” The item text says “Just holding this glimmering fan made with golden feathers makes you feel glamorous!” You also keep the tough mangoes you harvested.

Step 5: Hand the fan to Dampé
Warp back to Eastern Hyrule Field and talk to Dampé. He asks “Which automaton should I make?”; choose “Get rich quick!”. He admires the fan (“It’s b-beautiful!”), takes it off your hands, and gets fired up: “WOOOO-HOOOO!” On his work plate he announces he’ll make a sparkling gold automaton and use the golden fan for this part.

Reward
“Zing! Meet Goldfinch. Sparkle away!” “You got the Goldfinch!” Dampé calls it his flashiest automaton to date: it attacks enemies and sends their rupees flyin’. Even better, if you wind up the clockwork key you can hold the Goldfinch up and glide to fly. Its notebook entry adds that it can glide indefinitely until it winds down. Dampé then says he’s feelin’ pretty complete, and the “Side Quest Complete” banner for Get Rich Quick! appears. See Automatons for all six of Dampé’s machines.

Tips
- Mango Rush is open long before this quest. If you already played the vibrant-seed round and scored 50+, you have the golden fan and can finish the quest as soon as you’ve shown Dampé the Crow.
- Harvesting all 60 on vibrant seeds adds 3 Might Crystals, and a later ultimate-seed round gives the Dancing Outfit and a Piece of Heart; see Minigames.
- Dampé repairs broken automatons and accepts Monster Stones instead of rupees, so a damaged Goldfinch is never lost.
