The Business Scrub who runs the Zora Cove Smoothie Shop can’t open for business: he has run out of Bubble Kelp, and as a plant he can’t go into the sea to get more. Bring him three pieces of Bubble Kelp and the quest is over in a single conversation. It pays only 20 rupees, but it unlocks the one smoothie stand in Jabul Waters, which is where you’ll want Dive Time Up and Swim Speed Up drinks.

How to Start

From Seesyde Village, follow the sandy shoreline of Zora Cove north. Where a small waterfall pours off the cliff into a stream that runs across the beach, you’ll find a stall set up against the rock wall, with a menu board, cups and a big jug. The Business Scrub behind it is muttering “I’ve done it now…” above his head. Talk to him and he groans “Ughhh, I really stepped in it this time.”: he doesn’t have what he needs to open shop, and while he’s grateful you dropped by, the Smoothie Shop isn’t open yet.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Get three Bubble Kelp

He explains that he ran out of Bubble Kelp (“because…well, it doesn’t matter why”), and he’s not sure what to do: “It only grows in the sea, and seawater doesn’t agree with me…” Bubble Kelp is an ingredient you collect while swimming around the sea in Jabul Waters, so you will often already be carrying some when you meet him. If you are short, the quickest source is Deliver the Grilled Fish! in Seesyde Village, which pays 10 pieces of Bubble Kelp, more than enough for this quest.

Step 2: Hand over the kelp

He asks “I don’t suppose you’ve got three pieces of bubble kelp you could part with?” Pick “Got ’em!” (the other choice is “Nope.”) and hand three pieces over. The Scrub hops with joy (“Bubba-bubba-bubble kelp!”), tells you “I can’t thank you enough. You saved my bark!” and confesses the real reason he ran dry: “I’ve learned my lesson. That’s the last time I snack on ingredients!” He then announces that the Zora Cove Smoothie Shop is open for business, and to thank you, and to celebrate the big day, he hands you a gift.

Reward

A red rupee pops up: “You got 20 rupees! Excellent!” The Scrub adds “Don’t spend it all in one place…unless it’s here!” and sighs that he feels like he’s turned over a new leaf, before the Side Quest Complete banner appears. Talk to him again and he greets you with “Hey there! Welcome to the Smoothie Shop. What can I do for you?” and the options “Smoothie, please!”, “I’d like to sell.”, “Let’s chat.” and “I’m fine—thanks.” From now on you can blend drinks here; see Smoothies for every recipe and buff.

Tips

  • Don’t hand over kelp you can’t spare and then run short: two pieces of Bubble Kelp make a Bubble Smoothie, which gives Dive Time Up, handy for long underwater sections around Zora Cove.
  • Riverhorses make Rapid drinks (Swim Speed Up), and this stand is the closest place to blend them; Big Shot pays 10 Riverhorses.
  • “I’d like to sell.” lets you trade spare ingredients for rupees; Bubble Kelp sells for 5 rupees each.
