The Great Fairy catches you opening her chest and, in exchange for letting it go, asks for a pendant “that sparkles like rupees”. The Gerudo jewelry artisan will make it, but only with a magma stone from Eldin Volcano and a floral seashell from Sea Zora Village. It’s a three-region fetch quest, and the payoff is the might bell, the best tool in the game for tracking down missed might crystals.

How to Start
Complete the Eldin Volcano storyline and purchase all four accessory-slot upgrades from the Great Fairy, leaving Zelda with five accessory slots. The upgrades cost 100, 300, 500 and 1,000 rupees, or 1,900 rupees total. Return to the shrine on the islet in Lake Hylia and open the chest beside the fountain once it appears. The Great Fairy catches you opening it and asks for a sparkling pendant made by the artisan in Gerudo Town. Lanayru Temple is not a prerequisite.

Walkthrough
Step 1: Talk to the artisan in Gerudo Town
Warp to Gerudo Town and enter the Gerudo Shop. The artisan is flattered the Great Fairy requested her artistry, but this rare opportunity needs special items: a floral seashell and a magma stone. Floral seashells are found in Zora Cove (“if you ask around Sea Zora Village, maybe someone can help you find one”); magma stones are “lovely ember-colored stones” from Eldin Volcano, and “one of the Gorons at the Goron City shop knows a lot about minerals”. The quest updates. You can collect the two items in either order.

Step 2: Ask the mineral Goron
Warp to Eldin Volcano and enter the shop in Goron City. The Goron behind the counter (“Interested in purchasing some minerals?”) has no magma stone on hand, but knows where to get one: “The cave where you can find magma stones is at the lava lake north of Goron City.” The place is infested with Lizalfos, so he hasn’t been able to get one in ages. Clear them out and he can collect some.

Step 3: Clear the Lizalfos Burrow
Head north from Goron City onto the lava fields and cross the flows on Cloud echoes, laying clouds side by side to make a bridge. The cave entrance sits on a rock island in the lava lake, and the title card reads Lizalfos Burrow. Work through the rooms (one has a chest among round boulders, another a narrow corridor between cracked lava floor) and defeat the spear-wielding Lizalfos. Swordfighter Form or strong echoes make it quick.

Step 4: Get the magma stone
When the last Lizalfos falls, the Goron runs in: he saw someone heading into the cave and got worried. “Bowl me over! You’re amazing, Zelda!” He goes to dig out the stones, and comes back with “the nicest of the lot”: “You got the magma stone!” It’s material for the Great Fairy’s pendant; take it to the Gerudo artisan.

Step 5: Make an unfortunate smoothie
The shell’s owner wants something odd in return, so prepare first. Visit the Business Scrub’s smoothie stand on the beach at Zora Cove and pay 10 rupees to blend two ingredients that don’t match any recipe (two Monster Fangs, for example). The failure is exactly what you want: “You got an unfortunate smoothie!” See Smoothies.

Step 6: Trade for the floral seashell
Swim out and dive down to Sea Zora Village. The Sea Zora collector by the shell stall (marker: “An extra-special shell!”) is admiring the sparkling beauty of the floral seashell and doesn’t want to part with it, until you keep staring. “Argh, fine! If you want it that badly, I’ll give it to you. But not for free.” He’ll trade it for an unfortunate smoothie: he has always wondered how one must taste. Hand it over; he drinks it (“It’s like…rancid mud!”), cherishes the memory of the atrocity, and keeps his word: “You got the floral seashell!”

Step 7: The artisan makes the pendant
Return to the Gerudo Shop. “Now I can make that gorgeous pendant I’ve been envisioning.” She polishes, sets and finishes it in one go: “Oh, it’s even more beautiful than I’d imagined!” You get the lovely pendant, custom made for the Great Fairy.

Reward
Warp back to Lake Hylia and enter the shrine. “You got her to make my pendant! Show it to me, would you?” The Great Fairy is thrilled (“It’s gorgeous! It’s marvelous!”) and keeps her promise: “You got a might bell!” This lovely bell rings when it senses a might crystal nearby; in her words, it “will ring when the blue pieces are nearby”. Equip it in an accessory slot when you’re hunting the last crystals. See Might Bell and Might Crystals.

Tips
- Make the unfortunate smoothie before you dive to Sea Zora Village; the Zora Cove smoothie stand is a short swim from the village.
- Wear the might bell while revisiting regions: it’s the easiest way to find the might crystals you missed.
