The Archaic Set represents Link’s very first foray into the world of Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom, a simple and old-fashioned outfit that serves as a foundational layer of protection. While its individual pieces offer minimal defensive capabilities, the set carries a nostalgic charm, symbolizing Link’s humble beginnings as he awakens in a shattered world.
Archaic Tunic (Body Gear)
This piece is discovered early in the adventure, found within a treasure chest inside Pondside Cave on the Great Sky Island, located at coordinates 0238, -1558, 1365.
Should a player wish to acquire another, it can be repurchased from Cece in Hateno Village for 50 Rupees, but only after the “The Mayoral Election” side adventure has been successfully completed. The Archaic Tunic cannot be enhanced at a Great Fairy Fountain, but it can be dyed to a preferred color.
Description: Old-fashioned upper-body wear. It’s got some holes, but the soft cloth feels good to the touch. It’s hard to keep it wrinkle-free.

This piece is also found early in the game, located in a green chest near the exit of the Room of Awakening on the Great Sky Island, with coordinates 0361, -1632, 2229.
Like its counterpart, it lacks any unique effects or set bonuses.
Description: Simple, classic legwear. They’re well-worn and showing their age, but they’ve still got a few good years left in them. It can be a bit cumbersome to have to tie the straps.

A notable variant within the Archaic collection. However, unlike the other pieces, they provide a crucial Level 1 Cold Resistance effect, invaluable for surviving chilly environments.
This piece does not contribute to a set bonus. It is located in a chest inside a distinctive half tree stump near the Gutanbac Shrine on the Great Sky Island.
Description: Warm greaves believed to be from a very long time ago. Despite the old look, the heat- retaining material makes it pleasantly resistant to cold temperatures.
