HP360 (I; 200 on the Great Sky Island), 720 (II), 1,080 (III)

Weak pointThe glowing core cube among its blocks
Key dropsZonai Charge, Large Zonai Charge, Flux Construct Core, a reward chest

A Flux Construct is a mass of Zonai blocks that rearranges itself into fists and walls. The only part that matters is the core: the cube with a bright green face. Keep hitting that cube and the pile falls apart.

Where to Find Flux Constructs

VariantLocations
IGreat Sky Island (the first fight, guardian of the island); West Hebra Sky Archipelago; sky islands above Typhlo Ruins; the Depths below Lookout Landing
IISky island at (-1327, -1567, 801); Depths below Lindor’s Brow, Typhlo Ruins and Eldin Canyon
IIISky island at (-2270, -424, 914); Depths of Lindor’s Brow and Raspro Pass; North Lomei Depths Labyrinth; the sky above Lake Hylia (Sage’s Will); the last terminal at (-1795, -3579, -539)

A Flux Construct guards a Sage’s Will on most sky islands, and each one guards a chest with a key or a weapon on the Depths islands.

How to Beat a Flux Construct

Find the core

The core is the glowing cube among the stone blocks, often framed by a green symbol. It floats up and drifts around while the blocks move. Do not waste time on the other blocks.

Break the core

Use arrows or thrown Bomb Flowers on the core while it is exposed. Dodge sideways when the fists drop, hit the core in the gap, and repeat. For Flux Construct III, keep moving between hits since its bigger blocks fill the whole arena.

Collect the Zonai loot

When the core breaks the pile collapses into Zonai Charges and Large Charges. Pick them up, and open the reward chest that appears where it stood.

Skipping and tricks

  • Most Flux Constructs that guard a Sage’s Will keep the chest on a block you can pick up with Ultrahand: grab the chest, carry it off and open it elsewhere. The exception is the West Hebra Sky Archipelago one, where King Gleeok has to be defeated first.
  • Recall on a block, or an arrow into the core, halts it for a few seconds; look for the cube with the glowing eye and hit that one.
  • Each Sage’s Will you collect (there are 20, four per upgrade at a Goddess Statue) strengthens one Sage’s ability.

Drops

Flux ConstructDrops
IZonai Charge x6-8 (100%), Flux Construct I Core (100%)
IIZonai Charge x7-9, Large Zonai Charge x2-3 (20%), Flux Construct II Core
IIIZonai Charge x8-10, Large Zonai Charge x2-3 (60%), Big Battery (3%), Flux Construct III Core

The core fuses to a weapon for extra attack power (more with each tier), and the Zonai Charges refill your devices and vehicles.

Best Farming Spot

Flux Construct III in the Depths gives the best charge payout, and the Depths sites below Lindor’s Brow and Raspro Pass are reliable repeat fights.
