Luto’s Channel

Luto’s Channel is a cave in Lanayru Great Spring, about 60 map units from Luto’s Crossing. Caves like this one hide chests and a Bubbulfrog that drops a Bubbul Gem; trade the gems to Koltin in The Hunt for Bubbul Gems!

How to find it

The entrance is at map coordinates 3094, -51, near Luto’s Crossing. Look for the cave mouth at that spot; a Blupee or a ring of light often marks them.

Inside the cave

Enter the flooded channel

Luto’s Channel is a water-filled cave in the Lanayru river channel, so swim or glide in and climb onto the first rocky shelf. The cave is dark and wet, so keep Brightbloom Seeds handy to spot ledges.

Open the Zora Sword chest

Follow the rock shelf along the wall to the first chest. It holds a Zora Sword, a water-resistant blade that hits harder when it is wet.

Strike the Bubbulfrog

Keep working inward past the glowing rock formations until you find the pale Bubbulfrog clinging to the cave wall. Hit it with an arrow or a thrown item to drop a Bubbul Gem, then pick it up.

Ascend to the Zora Shield chest

Further along, use Ascend through the overhang above the ledge to surface beside the second chest. It holds a Zora Shield.

Route, chests and Bubbulfrog at a glance

The entrance is on the riverbank south of Luto’s Crossing, west of Ruto Mountain, down at water level. A fast river runs through the cave and ends in a waterfall. Wooden planks drift out of the river’s source and let you hop across; if they carry you the wrong way, use Recall to reverse them. If you fall down the waterfall, wear the Zora Armor to swim back up, or reach dry land and Ascend. The rock near the tunnel on the far side is slippery, so keep trying until you get up.

ChestContents and location
Chest 1Zora Sword, on the far side of the river at the back of the channel
Chest 2Zora Shield, beyond the end of the waterfall; drop down and use Ascend to reach it

The Bubbulfrog sits on the ceiling of an upper cave: cross the river, pass under the big rock wall on the right, Ascend through it and follow the open cave on the right to its end. One or two arrows bring it down for the Bubbul Gem. A Luminous Stone Deposit is in the same area. No Korok seed or shrine belongs to this cave; you only need a way across the water (the planks, gliding or Zora Armor) and a bow.
