| Way up | Launch from any of the 15 Skyview Towers, or ride a Zonai flyer from the surface |

| Needs | Paraglider, Ultrahand and Zonai devices to cross between islands |
The sky islands float over every region. The quickest way up is a Skyview Tower, which launches you into the sky and reveals the sky map for that region. From there you glide between islands and build Zonai flyers to reach the ones you cannot glide to.
How to get to the sky islands
Activate a Skyview Tower and launch
Climb to the top of a Skyview Tower, activate its terminal and step onto the launch pad. You are shot into the sky and can glide down onto the nearest island with your paraglider. There are 15 towers; the ones that reach most sky islands are Hyrule Field, Lookout Landing, Lindor’s Brow, Popla Foothills, Ulri Mountain, Mount Lanayru and Pikida Stonegrove.

Switch to the sky map
Open the map and switch to the Sky layer to see the islands in the region you launched into. The tower fills in the nearby sky, and shrines and Lightroots in the sky are marked as you find them. Glide between islands and use the updrafts to keep your height.

Build a flyer for the far islands
Many islands are too far to glide to. Take Fans, Wings, a Steering Stick and a battery from a Zonai Device Dispenser or from your stock and build a small flyer with Ultrahand. A Wing with two Fans is enough for most hops; carry a spare Zonai Charge to refill the battery.

Sky shrine quests
Ten of the sky shrines are sealed in a crystal until you free them: Mayam, Jinodok, Ganos, Taninoud, Gikaku, Natak, Mayanas, Josiu, Ukoojisi and Kumamayn. Examine the shrine, follow the beam of green light to the crystal on a neighbouring island and fly it back with a Zonai flyer. Most have a Flux Construct or a vine wall guarding the crystal. The Hebra sky is bitterly cold, so bring cold resistance there.

|---|---|
| The Sky Mine Crystal | Gikaku |
| The Sokkala Sky Crystal | Natak |
| The North Hyrule Sky Crystal | Mayam |
| The South Hyrule Sky Crystal | Jinodok |

Notable islands and what they hold
| Island | Why visit |
|---|---|
| Great Sky Island | The tutorial island: Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend and Recall, the Temple of Time and the first Goddess Statue. |
| Thunderhead Isles and Dragonhead Island (Faron Sky) | Opened with a lightning bolt from the Zonai Ruins; home to Joku-usin and Joku-u shrines and the Zonai relic that leads to Mineru. |
| Wellspring Island (Lanayru Sky) | Reached by waterfall from the Ancient Zora Waterworks; Igoshon Shrine, a Sage’s Will and the Water Temple. |
| Sky Mine and Sokkala Sky Archipelago (Akkala Sky) | Crystal quests for Gikaku and Natak, Old Maps, a Sage’s Will and a Flux Construct III. |
| Lomei Labyrinth Island (Akkala Sea) | A flooded maze on the surface and a sky labyrinth above it; the prophecy there ends with the Evil Spirit Armor. |
| Floating Scales Island (Lanayru Sky) | A fish-shaped island east of Mipha Court used during Clues to the Sky. |
| West Hebra Sky Archipelago | Flux Construct I (the sky giant for Gralens’s quest) and an Old Map. |
What else is up there
Sky chests hold the 20 Sage’s Wills, which you offer four at a time at a Goddess Statue to strengthen a sage’s Vow, and the Old Maps that point to rare armor in the Depths. Device Dispensers and Korok seeds are scattered across the islands too, so it pays to land and look around rather than glide past.
