RewardBeam of light at East Reservoir Lake; leads on to Sidon of the Zora; King’s Scales x5 from Dorephan

After restoring the broken slate at Toto Lake, the riddle points you toward a fish in the sky and a mark made by the king. The next part is finding King Dorephan, taking one of his scales to the right island, and firing it through a stone tear.

Walkthrough

Find King Dorephan

The quest marker can send you back to Toto Lake, but Jiahto has already given you the clue. Head to Zora’s Domain and return to the throne room. The children in front of the throne are discussing where the king has gone. Climb around behind the throne and listen to their conversation; approaching them from the front interrupts it.

They reveal that Dorephan is hiding in a cave behind a waterfall between Zora’s Domain and Ploymus Mountain, near Lulu Lake. From Ihen-a Shrine or Mipha Court, glide toward Lulu Lake and look for the waterfall. Enter the cave behind it, called Pristine Sanctum, and speak with the king. He gives you five King’s Scales, and more whenever you run out. King’s Scales cannot be sold.

Talk to Sidon

Return to Sidon at Mipha Court and tell him what you learned. He explains the next clue: find the fish-shaped island in the sky and use one of the king’s scales to mark the water below.

Reach the sky fish

Open the map and switch to the Sky view. Floating Scales Island is east of Mipha Court. Its outline looks like a fish, with a waterfall pouring from its mouth.

The straightforward route is to wear the Zora Armor and swim up the waterfall, then glide onto the island. If you don’t have the armor yet, you can also build a hot-air balloon with Ultrahand (a balloon and a fire source), ride it up and glide across; you can reach the island from a falling rock using Recall, or launch from a nearby Skyview Tower and glide across. Clear the sludge with Splash Fruit when it blocks your way.

Shoot through the stone tear

Go to the island’s central, high area, around 4073, 0530, 0604. Face southwest and look for a gap in the floating rocks that forms a teardrop shape. Nudge your position until the rocks line up clearly.

Fuse a King’s Scale to an arrow and shoot it through the opening. A beam of light will appear at East Reservoir Lake. That completes Clues to the Sky and points you toward the next part of Sidon’s quest.

If you get stuck

  • The children won’t talk: Climb behind the throne and listen from there instead of walking up to them.
  • You can’t find the king’s cave: Search behind the waterfall by Lulu Lake, between the Domain and Ploymus Mountain.
  • The tear is hard to see: Stand near the island’s center and look southwest; move a little at a time until the floating rocks form a droplet.
  • You used your scales: Return to Dorephan in Pristine Sanctum. He can give you more.
