| Reward | Heart Container, Vow of Sidon (Sidon’s water shield in combat) |
The Sidon of the Zora main quest begins after Link cleans the statue in Zora’s Domain. It follows the sludge problem from Mipha Court to Toto Lake, the sky above Lanayru, the Ancient Zora Waterworks, and finally the Water Temple, where you beat Mucktorok and earn the Vow of Sidon.
Three other main quests are part of the route: The Broken Slate, Restoring the Zora Armor and Clues to the Sky. You also need the Zora Armor to swim up waterfalls. If you have not repaired it yet, visit Yona in the infirmary at Zora’s Domain and bring her an Ancient Arowana from the pool at Mipha Court.
Keep Splash Fruit or another source of water on hand. It helps with the sludge, and the Water Temple puzzles rely on Sidon’s water ability.
Walkthrough
Meet Sidon at Mipha Court
After The Sludge-Covered Statue, Yona points Link toward Sidon at Mipha Court, near the summit of Ploymus Mountain. Climb the broad stairs from Zora’s Domain, then follow the mountain path toward the quest marker. If you have activated Ihen-a Shrine near Mipha Court, you can travel there directly. Speak with Sidon. He is trying to clear the sludge from the water and asks Link to consult the Zora historian, Jiahto, at Toto Lake.

Help Jiahto repair the Broken Slate
Toto Lake is northwest of Mipha Court, around 3405, 0884, 0400. Find the cave on the lake’s southwest side and speak with Jiahto beside the broken stone tablet. This starts The Broken Slate. The missing piece is outside the cave, to the right of the entrance. Use Ultrahand to find it. It is covered in sludge, so clean it with Splash Fruit or another water source. Lift the piece with Ultrahand and fit it into the gap in the wall beside Jiahto.

Once the slate is restored, Jiahto reads a riddle about the “land of the sky fish,” a droplet, and an arrow marked by the king. This completes The Broken Slate and starts Clues to the Sky.
Repair the Zora Armor
Before following the riddle into the sky, make sure you have the Zora Armor. It is needed to swim up waterfalls later in the quest. If the armor is still damaged, speak with Yona in the infirmary at Zora’s Domain. She needs an Ancient Arowana to repair it. Climb to Mipha Court and search the pool around Mipha’s statue. Catch one fish and bring it back to Yona.

Find King Dorephan and get a King’s Scale
Jiahto’s riddle refers to the king’s mark, but he does not know where King Dorephan is. Return to Zora’s Domain and go to the throne room. The Zora children playing in front of the throne will not talk if Link approaches from the front. Climb around the side of the throne and listen from behind them. They reveal that Dorephan is hiding in a cave behind a waterfall near Lulu Lake, between Ploymus Mountain and Zora’s Domain.

Travel to Ihen-a Shrine or Mipha Court and glide toward Lulu Lake. Enter the cave behind the waterfall to find Pristine Sanctum. Speak with King Dorephan. He gives Link five King’s Scales and asks him to tell Sidon that he is safe.
Find the land of the sky fish
Return to Sidon at Mipha Court and tell him what Dorephan said. Look east from the court for the fish-shaped island with a waterfall pouring from its front. It is called Floating Scales Island on the map. One way to reach it is to use Recall on a fallen rock that leaves a green trail. Ride it back into the sky, then glide to the island. You can also build a balloon with the Zonai devices nearby. Clean enough sludge from the island to move around safely.

Stand near the center of the island and look southwest. Adjust your position until the floating stones line up into a teardrop shape. Fuse a King’s Scale to an arrow and shoot through the opening. This reveals a pillar of light at East Reservoir Lake and completes Clues to the Sky.
Defeat the Sludge Like at Mipha Court
Return to Mipha Court and speak with Sidon and Yona. After the conversation, a Sludge Like attacks. Get close to Sidon and activate his water shield. Press the attack button to send the water at the Sludge Like and clear its coating. When its mouth opens, run in and attack the exposed weak point. Repeat the water attack when it is covered again.

When the fight ends, Sidon joins Link. The new marker points to East Reservoir Lake, south of Mipha Court.
Enter the Ancient Zora Waterworks
Meet Sidon at the pillar beside the East Reservoir Lake. He opens a whirlpool in the lake. Jump into it to enter the Ancient Zora Waterworks, around 3603, 0128, 0202. The water level is low because boulders have blocked the channels. Use a fused rock weapon or Yunobo’s charge to break the boulders and let water flow through the chambers.

- In the first chamber, break the boulder blocking the water outlet.
- Continue into the larger room and clear the next blocked channel. As the water rises, use the floating platforms to reach the higher ledges.
- On the east side, place a wooden board partly into the pipe opening and use Ascend to get above it. Break the rocks inside the pipe.
- Follow the newly reachable route along the north side. Look for a smaller pipe opening in the wall. Glide into it or use a board and Ascend.
- In the room where water pours down through a grate, use Ascend to reach the boulders above and break them.
- Climb the ladder, open the barred gate with the switch, then reach the glowing terminal in the center of the ruins.
Activate the terminal to send a waterfall up to Wellspring Island. Equip the Zora Armor and swim up the waterfall.
Climb Wellspring Island
The route across Wellspring Island is built around water bubbles, waterfalls, and short glides. Follow the path and use the bubble machines to carry Link to higher platforms. If a bubble is drifting the wrong way, use Recall on it, then jump inside. Activate Igoshon Shrine when you reach it. It provides a useful checkpoint for the climb.

Continue through the islands, clearing sludge from the path with Sidon’s water or Splash Fruit. Use the Zora Armor to swim up the brown waterfalls. Some gaps are crossed with Zonai devices: place the bird-shaped device on the ramp and use the nearby crystal to launch it, or build a cart with a Fan to reach the next platform.
Near the top, use Recall on a bubble to ride it across a gap. In another section, place a stone slab against the wall so bubbles bounce toward the upper ledge. Keep following the quest markers until you reach Sidon again. Defeat or avoid the Construct nearby, then swim up the sludge-covered waterfall to arrive at the Water Temple.
Find the four faucets
Speak with Sidon and activate the green travel point on the main platform. Examine the terminal in the center. It reveals four faucets that must be opened to drain the sludge from the temple. Use Sidon’s water shield, then send the water at each wheel. The four faucets can be opened in any order. Use the quest markers on the map to find them.

Faucet: Ball and sluice puzzle
Climb to the platform with the sludge-covered bubble machine and wash it clean with Sidon’s water. Take the ball from the pool and use a bubble to carry it to the upper level. Place it in the round socket. Use Ultrahand to attach a floating Zonai stone to the sluice. Raise the sluice and activate the stone so it stays up. The pool drains, the ball drops into its socket, and the gate opens. Use Sidon’s water on the wheel beyond it.

Faucet: Fire and orb puzzle
Glide down to the lower level and use Sidon’s water shield to cross the flame barrier. Pick up the orb at the far end and carry it across the spikes with a floating stone. Fit the orb into the wall socket to open the door to the wheel. To get Sidon through the flames, use another floating stone to block the fire stream near the doorway. Return to Sidon, activate his water shield, and send the water through the open path at the wheel.

Faucet: Water wheel and bubble circuit
Reach the northeast platform by climbing from the central platform and gliding across. Use Recall on a bubble to ride it upward. Attach two stone slabs to the water wheel so the waterfall keeps it turning. Follow the yellow electrical line to the nearby door. Use Ultrahand to place a water bubble in the gap in the circuit, then go through the door and activate the wheel with Sidon’s water.

Faucet: Spinning tower
Glide south from the previous platform. The last wheel is behind a door, and its switch is inside a spinning tower covered in sludge. Use Ultrahand to carry bubbles from the nearby bubble machine and place them around the tower until one pops close enough to wash the sludge away. From the central platform, shoot an arrow through the opening when the orange switch comes into view. This opens the door. Use Sidon’s water on the final wheel.

With all four faucets active, return to the central terminal and open the hatch.
Defeat Mucktorok
The boss, Mucktorok, hides inside a sludge shark. Use Sidon’s water attack or Splash Fruit to wash the sludge away. When Mucktorok is exposed, chase it down and attack before it forms the shark again.

In the second phase, sludge covers much of the floor. Keep a clear patch nearby by washing the sludge away with Sidon or water-fused arrows. When the shark leaps or fires a beam, dodge the attack, clear its sludge, and hit the small creature when it is stunned.
Return to Zora’s Domain
When the fight ends, collect the Heart Container and speak with Sidon. Link returns to Zora’s Domain, where the sludge has cleared and Sidon receives the Secret Stone. The quest rewards Link with the Vow of Sidon, which lets him summon Sidon’s water shield during combat.

Chests
These chests are optional but worth collecting. Water Temple chests are listed by faucet area.
- Igoshon Shrine (Wellspring Island): a Large Zonai Charge. Climb the first bubble, drop from the left side and use Ultrahand to open the chest.
- Wellspring Island: the Flux Construct II near the top carries a chest with a Sage’s Will. Several more chests are buried in sludge on the islands; clear the sludge with Sidon’s water or a hydrant to reach them.
- Ancient Zora Waterworks: one chest is hidden behind thorns. Dry the thorns out, then burn them.
- First faucet area: Large Zonaite, held by a Hover Stone. Hit the Hover Stone to drop it, then grab the chest with Ultrahand.
- Second faucet area: Sapphire, underwater near the pond leaves; and a Zora Shield behind a sludge-covered structure. Wash it with a water-fused arrow and climb the waterfall it reveals.
- Third faucet area: Five Arrows under the floor sludge, and a Zonaite Sword (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) dropped by the Fire Like on the platform.
- Fourth faucet area: Large Zonai Charge on a small floating platform in the northeast corner (Hover Stones and a glide), and an Opal northwest of the lowered water.
Rewards
- Heart Container from the Mucktorok fight
- Vow of Sidon, which lets Link summon Sidon’s water shield during combat
- King’s Scales (five) from King Dorephan along the way
- Sidon becomes the Sage of Water, and the sludge around Zora’s Domain is cleared
