| Best sellable | Diamond (500 rupees each); dragon horns sell for 300 |
|---|---|
| Rupee values | Green 1, Blue 5, Red 20, Purple 50, Silver 100, Gold 300 |
| Not a rupee source | Bargainer Statues pay in Poes, not rupees |
| Best loops | Gem ore, dragon parts, Lynel and Gleeok parts, Blupees |
The best way to make rupees is to sell gems and rare monster parts to shopkeepers. Diamonds sell for 500 each, and a dragon’s horn is worth 300. Rupees drop from chests and Blupees, but selling is far faster.

Zonaite sells for only 3 rupees, so spend it on Zonai Charges rather than selling it.
Farming loops
Mine gem ore
Fuse a rock or a Boulder to a weapon to make a hammer and smash ore deposits. Each deposit gives gems, and Diamonds are the prize at 500 each. Deposits respawn after a Blood Moon, so a circuit of the same mountains after each one is a steady income. Eldin, Hebra and the Depths have the densest ore.
Shear the dragons
Each dragon drops a horn, claws, scales and fang shards when you shoot or shear them as they fly past. They reset with time, so keep a circuit of Dinraal, Naydra, Farosh and the Light Dragon, and sell the horns at 300 apiece.
Open the Gold Rupee chests
Gold Rupees are worth 300 each, but they are rare. Guides place the Gold Rupee chests in the North Gerudo Ruins and in the Sanctum at Hyrule Castle; sources are thin on exact positions, so treat them as bonuses rather than a loop.

Smaller sources
Blupees (the blue glowing treasure creatures, found in caves such as Satori Mountain Cave and across the surface) drop rupees each time they are hit, so jump from a height, draw your bow to slow time and shoot as many arrows as you can. Addison’s Hudson Construction sign quests pay rupees and materials. Cooked meals also sell for more than raw ingredients: hunting animals around Lookout Landing, or five Raw Gourmet Meat from Tabantha Tundra cooked into a skewer (reported at 315 rupees), is a steady early to mid game income. A late game favourite is the Zonai-wing target game on Eventide Island, which costs 20 rupees to enter and pays 100 for the water target and 300 for the bullseye once you have cleared the pirates and opened the hideout there. Weapons, shields and bows cannot be sold, but armor, ingredients and meals can. Mining Diamonds in the Depths is also fast, but remember to carry cold and gloom protection.
Do not waste Poes on rupees
Bargainer Statues take Poes, not rupees. They are worth visiting for the Dark armor set and the Tunic of Memories, but they will not help you earn rupees. Sell gems at the shops in towns instead.
