Taninoud Shrine is sealed until you bring it a crystal. Find the crystal in a vine-choked cave on the island north of the shrine, load it onto a floating platform powered by Zonai fans, and carry it to the shrine base.
Walkthrough
Reach Taninoud Shrine
Launch from the Pikida Stonegrove Skyview Tower and glide north-east to the first sky island, then use the Zonai devices you find (launch pads, fan platforms and rockets) to hop across the archipelago to the shrine island. Examine the shrine base and the quest begins; a beam of light points toward where the crystal is.
Cross the ruined islands
On the north side of the first island there is a floating platform with a fan. Detach the fan and reattach it so that it pushes you toward the island to the north, then switch it off as you near the island so the battery recharges. Reattach the fan pointing up to ride the platform to the top of the next island and hop off. On that island’s north side is another fan platform: lower it with Ultrahand, hop on and glide down to the ledge below to the north.
Free the crystal
On the ledge, destroy the vines with a flame or a sharp weapon. The crystal sits further inside, behind more vines. Lower the platform to the ground, then pick up the crystal and the Zonai piece in front of the vines, and place both on the platform.
Carry the crystal to the shrine
Attach the crystal and fans to the platform so that it pushes up and toward the shrine, then place it over the cliff edge and hop on. Steer it to the top of the island, jump off near the top and move the platform to the shrine side, and reposition the fans so that they push you toward the shrine island. Once above it, lower yourself or drop the crystal in front of the shrine, then pick it up and set it in the shrine base. The shrine opens and you can enter.
Rewards
The shrine contains no puzzle; it is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine. Open the chest to take the Topaz and interact with the blessing at the altar for the Light of Blessing.
Tips
- Bring spare Zonai charges and stamina food for the glides; the fans’ batteries recharge while switched off.
