The Lake Hylia Crystal

Quest typeShrine quest
GiverMysterious Voice
Starts inLake Hylia Whirlpool Cave, at En-oma Shrine (103, -2518, -74)
RequirementsParaglider; Popla Foothills Skyview Tower is the easiest launch point
RewardEn-oma Shrine, Light of Blessing and a Zonaite Sword chest, plus the Amo-ne Lightroot

The pedestal for En-oma Shrine sits at the bottom of the whirlpool in Lake Hylia. Its crystal is on a sky island of the Faron Sky Archipelago above the lake: glide up, take the crystal, drop it through the hole in the island and dive after it, then place it on the pedestal.

Walkthrough

Examine the shrine pedestal in the whirlpool cave

Dive into the whirlpool at the east end of Lake Hylia at about (125, -2501, -89) to be pulled down into a cavern. Examine the empty shrine mound at the back, which starts the quest and sends a beam of light up out of the cave. Brightbloom Seeds and Brightcaps light the cavern, and a Bubbulfrog on the wall behind the waterfall drops a Bubbul Gem.

Launch to the sky island

Activate the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower at (604, -2126, 91) and launch from it. The beam of light shows where the crystal is, so glide southwest toward the Faron Sky Archipelago island above the whirlpool and land on its stone floor. Bring stamina food for the long glide.

Pick up the crystal

Find the crystal on its pedestal in the building on the island. A square hole in the island’s floor lines up with the whirlpool far below, so pick up the crystal and drop it through the hole. A rock on the island hides a Korok seed at about (126, -2502, 691) if you lift it first.

Dive after it and place it on the pedestal

Dive off the island and glide down after the crystal toward the whirlpool, then pick it up again at the bottom of the lake and carry it to the shrine mound. The crystal grows into En-oma Shrine. Inside there is no puzzle: take the chest for a Zonaite Sword (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress) and the Light of Blessing.

Rewards

You earn the Light of Blessing and a Zonaite Sword (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress). The Amo-ne Lightroot lies below the shrine at (102, -2518, -435).

Tips

  • Lift the rock on the island for the Korok seed before you drop the crystal; you will not want to climb back up.
  • You can also start the quest by picking up the crystal first.
  • The crystal falls straight into the whirlpool, so it cannot be lost.
