The Northwest Hebra Cave Crystal

Rutafu-um Shrine in the Northwest Hebra Cave needs a crystal. Follow the green beam to the pool, freeze a path across it, pick up the crystal with Ultrahand and carry it to the shrine.

Walkthrough

Touch the shrine to learn what it needs

Find the cave by walking a short way northwest from Selmie’s Spot to a crevice under a rock formation, marked by a small fire, a barrel and some boxes, and drop through the hole inside. The cave is freezing, so wear cold protection. Enter the Hebra Mountains Northwest Cave and clear its Bokoblins (including a camp group across the water). Walk up to Rutafu-um Shrine on the slope behind the pool; it is sealed and a green beam starts pointing across the cavern.

Freeze a path across the pool

The crystal lies in the water. Shoot down an icicle from the ceiling and fuse it to a weapon, then swing it over the water so ice blocks form, or throw Ice Fruit into the pool, to make a path out to the beam’s end. The crystal sits at the bottom of the small lake in the middle of the cave. Do not swim: the cold water drains health and Ultrahand does not work underwater. A fire source melts the ice block on the right side of the pond to reveal a chest with Wing devices, which can also bridge the water.

Lift the crystal out

Stand on the ice, grab the crystal with Ultrahand and carry it back to shore. It is fragile, so lift it slowly.

Offer it at the shrine

Place the crystal on the pedestal in front of Rutafu-um Shrine. The crystal grows and the shrine opens. Rutafu-um is a Rauru’s Blessing shrine with no puzzle: open the chest for a Topaz and take its Light of Blessing from the green seal at the end.

Tips

• The Mu-ufatur Lightroot lies below the shrine in the Depths.
