Gatakis Shrine (Ride the Winds)

Gatakis Shrine is a paraglider trial below Rito Village in the Tabantha Frontier. You get no Zonai devices: glide past laser beams, dive through the wind shafts and ride updrafts to the altar, picking up a Construct Bow from a chest on the way.

How to find it

Reach the shrine

Gatakis Shrine is at -3651, 1806 at the foot of Rito Village, beside Lake Totori. Walk to the snowy ledge where the doorway glows and enter. The shrine is below the Slippery Falcon General Store; you can also launch from Rospro Pass Skyview Tower and glide to it. Bring cold resistance, and note the shrine gives you no Zonai devices.

Solution

Glide through the lasers

Leave the entry ledge and glide across to the first platform. In the tall hall beyond, glide down the shaft between the criss-crossing laser beams, steering round each beam without touching it.

Dive through the fan shaft

Drop into the circular shaft and dive just as the spinning fan blades open, then glide through the gap. Break through the ice sheet below to reach the next hall.

Open the chest

In the hall with the Soldier Constructs, glide to the side ledge with the chest and open it for a Mighty Construct Bow (Strong or Mighty, depending on your progress). The Constructs are easy to take out from above if they get in your way. Tap the glide button to unequip and re-equip the paraglider as you go to control your height.

Ride the updrafts to the altar

Glide off the ledge and alternate diving and gliding up the updraft shaft. Fly through the gap between the two Zonai statues and land on the altar platform. Touch the seal for the Light of Blessing.

The Lightroot below

Directly under this shrine, in the Depths, is the Sikatag Lightroot. Light it from below to reveal that part of the Depths map. It cannot be reached from the Depths side alone: from the surface, go southeast from the shrine and drop off the cliff to reach the cave into the Rito Village Chasm, and the Lightroot is dimly visible to the west near the Abandoned Hebra Mine.
