Jochi-iu Shrine (Courage to Pluck)

Jochi-iu Shrine is a puzzle shrine. Use Ultrahand, Fuse, Ascend and Recall to reach the terminal at the end. The trial is called Courage to Pluck. It sits in Deep Akkala, about 148 map units from East Akkala Stable Well. The Ui-ihcoj Lightroot lies directly beneath it in the Depths.

Solution

Study the block tower and the hole

The first room holds a tall tower of stacked blocks with a ball resting on top, and a ring-shaped hole in the floor. The ball must end up in that hole, so do not let it roll into the lava.

Pull blocks out of the tower

There are two chests here, a Zonaite Bow and a Large Zonaite. One is reached by pulling the bottom-right block out to the side without disturbing the tower and leaning it against the left ledge. The other is stuck in the tower: grab the block on the back of the fifth level and attach it straight away so the chest comes with it, then carefully draw it out the back. You cannot simply jump onto the block platform, so Ultrahand is needed.

Use Ultrahand to grab the long blocks sticking out of the tower and pull them free one at a time, working from the lower layers. Set each block down on the stone ledge or lift it over the lava; the tower leans but stays up while you work carefully.

Ascend to the upper ledge for the Large Zonaite

Carry a block to the far side and rest it so one edge overhangs the ledge, then stand under the ceiling slab and use Ascend to rise through it. Open the chest on the upper ledge (guides disagree on whether this one holds the Large Zonaite or the Zonaite Bow, so the other chest holds the remaining item).

Drop the ball in the hole and finish

Once the ball is down, catch it and put it into the floor hole to open the door to the last chamber. Take the Light of Blessing from the terminal there.

Tips

Pull blocks from the right-hand side so the tower leans away from you and the ball rolls down; catch it before it drops into the pit below, because losing it resets the puzzle.
If the elevator on the ball’s route is not active, hold the ball with Ultrahand and push it up the ramp yourself.
