Teniten Shrine (Combat Training: Throwing)

Teniten Shrine is a Combat Training shrine. A Soldier Construct tests one skill, and you earn the Light of Blessing when you pass. The trial is called Combat Training: Throwing. It sits in Hyrule Field, about 69 map units from Whistling Hill Cave. The Netinet Lightroot lies directly beneath it in the Depths.

Teniten Shrine is at map coordinates -74, -1115 (height 34), near Whistling Hill Cave.

Solution

Pick up a throwing weapon

This trial teaches throwing: your other attacks do nothing here. Take weapons from the rack to the left of the entrance, which holds five Rusty Halberds. Only thrown weapons damage the Construct: bows, arrows, sword beams and thrown materials do nothing. Thrown weapons break when they hit, so keep your own good weapon in reserve.

Throw it at the Soldier Construct

Watch the Construct move along the wall and throw the weapon when it is in the open. It stays still for the first throw; after the first hit it starts moving from side to side, so aim one body part ahead of it (the eyes are an easy target). A second hit finishes the trial and lifts the gate to the altar. Pick up several halberds in case you miss.
