Tsutsu-um Shrine (The Stakes Guide You)

Tsutsu-um Shrine introduces the Stake. Attach stakes and platforms with Ultrahand to climb beside the rising and falling pillar, glide across with the paraglider, and finish at the altar. You need the paraglider to complete it.

How to find it

The shrine sits on a grassy hill southwest of Hyrule Field Skyview Tower, overlooking Outskirt Stable. Climb or launch up the rock and enter the shrine under the large egg-shaped boulder. The Mu-ustust Lightroot lies directly below it in the Depths.

Solution

Raise the platform over the lava

In the first chamber a flat platform and a stake lie by the lava. Use Ultrahand to join the platform to the stake, ready to fix it to the tall pillar. Stakes do not use the normal attach action: push the stake into the surface and release it, and it sticks fast.

Stake the rising pillar

Push the stake into the moving pillar on the left when it is at its lowest point, so the pillar carries the platform with it. Ride the platform up and glide with the paraglider to the higher ledge.

Climb to the chest

The chest sits on the far side of the pillar and holds five arrows. Ride the updraft from the fan with the paraglider and land beside the chest; if you prefer, repeat the stake and platform trick from the other side of the pillar. Ride the updraft again to reach the next platforms.

Cross the wheel room

Land on the small upper platform opposite the spinning wheel. A ball rolls out of a chute here, and stakes are fixed to the wall nearby. Stick one stake out from the wall in the path of the rotating lever so it jams and forms a ramp that carries the ball onto the rails under the wheel. Drag a second stake into the ball’s chute to slow it so it lands on the ramp. Then glide to the bowl beyond the wheel, pull the ball onto its edge and drop it in; it falls into a hole and the entrance gate opens. Ascend to the cage roof above the bowl and glide to the ledge by the gate.

Take the Light of Blessing

Head through the opened gate and touch the altar at the end to collect the Light of Blessing.

The Lightroot below

Directly under this shrine, in the Depths, is the Mu-ustust Lightroot. Light it from below to reveal that part of the Depths map.
