Robbie sends you from Lookout Landing to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, east of Hateno Village, where he fits the Purah Pad with a sensor that detects shrines. Test it on the slope outside the lab, which leads you into Retsam Forest Cave and Mayahisik Shrine, then report back to Robbie to finish the adventure.

Walkthrough

Accept the adventure from Robbie

Once Josha has worked out what the slate means, talk to Robbie in Lookout Landing. He tells you to visit his lab so he can improve your Purah Pad, starting with a sensor. The side adventure appears in your log as Hateno Village Research Lab.

Travel to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab

The lab sits in the hills east of Hateno Village in East Necluda, on the edge of Retsam Forest at about (3778, -2127, 230). Hateno Village is the nearest town; head up into the hills to the east and walk to the lab building. Talk to Robbie inside and hand over the Purah Pad so he can install the sensor. If you cannot find the lab, set it as the destination in your Adventure Log. Robbie then asks you to walk around the lab with the sensor on; it picks up a shrine near the front window, so head out of the front door to follow it.

Follow the sensor to the shrine

Leave the lab and walk down the slope in front of it. The sensor chirps faster the closer you get to a shrine you have not visited, so keep turning until the sound speeds up. It leads you down the hillside to the base of the hill, where the entrance to Retsam Forest Cave sits beside a small waterfall (a breakable rock in a nearby alcove also leads in: break it with a Bomb Flower, hammer or bomb). Inside, a short passage ends at Mayahisik Shrine, a Rauru’s Blessing shrine with no puzzle: open the chest for a Magic Scepter and take the Light of Blessing.

Report back to Robbie

Return to the lab and talk to Robbie again. He posts the sensor’s operating instructions and the adventure is complete. He now has more Purah Pad upgrades available, so speak to him again whenever you want the next one.

Rewards

The Sensor is added to the Purah Pad and detects nearby shrines you have not yet visited. Mayahisik Shrine is also unlocked with its Light of Blessing and a Magic Scepter chest, and a Bubbulfrog lives in Retsam Forest Cave for a Bubbul Gem.

Tips

  • If the sensor stays silent, walk slowly along the slope; guides report it responds to the direction you are moving rather than where you are looking, and it will not react if you walk away from a nearby shrine.
  • You can find and enter Mayahisik Shrine without doing this adventure, but the Sensor upgrade only comes from Robbie.
  • Robbie’s follow-up requests (Sensor +, Hero’s Path Mode and others) unlock after you register more monsters in the Compendium and visit more shrines.
