Hestu is the big Korok who expands your inventory for Korok Seeds. Cut down the trees on the hillside that frighten him, come back with a Korok Seed, and pick which stash grows by one slot.
How to find Hestu
Go to Lindor’s Brow in the Hyrule Ridge area, the high ground around Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. Hestu stands on the gravelly slope beneath the natural stone arch beside the tower: a huge Korok with a tree growing from his head, carrying a pair of red maracas. Talk to him. He is scared of the trees nearby and wants them gone. Later in the game he moves on, to Lookout Landing and then Korok Forest, so do this adventure early if you want the expansion near here.
Walkthrough
Find the scary trees
Look along the grassy hillside next to Hestu for the trees he is afraid of, close to the rocks. Trees you must fell carry an orange arrow marker on the trunk.
Chop the marked trees down
Draw any melee weapon and strike each trunk at the orange arrow until the tree topples. The trees drop acorns, Hightail Lizards and other forage, so pick up what you want. A fallen log on the grass means that tree is done.
Give Hestu a Korok Seed
Return to Hestu. He explains that his maracas have lost their seeds, and offers to expand your inventory if you give him one Korok Seed. Say yes and choose which stash grows: Weapon stash, Bow stash or Shield stash. Pick the one you run out of space in most often, then hand over the seed.
Reward
After his dance, your chosen stash gains one extra slot and the adventure is complete. Hestu offers to expand your pouch again straight away if you have more seeds, using the same Weapon, Bow and Shield options, and he can sniff out any Korok Seeds you are still carrying.
Tips
- Have a Korok Seed in your pouch before you start.
- Strike the marked spot on each trunk; the orange arrow shows where to aim.
- The first extra slot costs one Korok Seed. Every further expansion also costs Korok Seeds, so keep gathering them as you explore.
- Hestu keeps moving as the game goes on, so look for him again at new locations after you progress.
