Walkthrough
Talk to Clavia
Find Clavia, Reede’s wife, near their house in eastern Hateno Village (she roams by day, so look for her at night if you cannot find her). Most guides list this quest after A New Signature Food has been started. She says Reede locks himself in the shed behind their house every evening and asks you to look inside in the middle of the day, when he is away. The door is locked, so you cannot enter through it.
Go underground through the North Well
Use the Hateno Village North Well (3421, -2029) near the north edge of the village. Drop in and follow the cave toward the quest marker, clearing enemies on the way. Use Ultrahand to move the stone blocking the passage, push the boulders aside to slip between them, and crouch through the small gap in a breakable wall on the right. Stop at the dead end of breakable boulders and open the quest in your Adventure Log to place a marker on the shed. All the Hateno wells connect, so the West Well also works.
Ascend into the shed and read the diary
When the marker shows you are directly beneath the shed, use Ascend to rise through the floor. Read Reede’s Diary on the desk: he is developing a new variety of pumpkin with Nack and borrowing designs from Cece’s clothing line, but it has not worked yet. You can also unlock the shed door from the inside.
Report back to Clavia
Leave the shed and return to Clavia at her house. She is relieved, though she is irritated at how stubborn her husband is, and gives you your reward.
Rewards
You earn 10 Hylian Tomatoes. This quest, Cece’s Secret and Team Cece or Team Reede? together lead into The Mayoral Election.
Tips
- Switch on the side adventure in the Adventure Log so the marker guides you along the underground route.
- If you surface outside the shed, cancel the Ascend and line up again.
