Penn is chasing a rumor that Princess Zelda has been seen riding a huge tusked beast, with sightings coming from the subtropical south. Talk to him at New Serenne Stable, then travel to Lakeside Stable in Faron and speak to Cima at the Dondon sanctuary, just north of the stable across the river (about 1536, -3357). Penn catches up with you there and pays you in rupees.
Walkthrough
Talk to Penn at New Serenne Stable
Find Penn outside New Serenne Stable, west of Hyrule Castle. He tells you of the rumors of the princess riding a mysterious beast with brutal tusks and says the sightings come from the subtropical region in the south, so travelers at the stables there may know more.
Travel to the Dondon sanctuary
Head to Lakeside Stable in Faron (about 1552, -3538), near Lake Floria. Shay, the stable hand by the fire, tells you that a woman called Cima is caring for unusual animals on the far side of the river to the north. Head straight north from the stable and glide across the river to the sanctuary, where Cima stands among the animals.
Learn about Dondons
Cima explains that the sanctuary shelters Dondons, a new species that Zelda discovered, and that the beast people spotted was one of them. Penn flies in right after you speak with her and is delighted to see one for himself; he decides the rumors were overblown and pays you before leaving to write up the story.
Rewards
Penn pays you rupees for the scoop. The amount depends on how many of his Potential Princess Sightings! quests you have already finished: 50 rupees for your first or second, 50 plus 20 for your third, 50 and a Froggy Sleeve for your fourth, and 100 or more for later ones (up to 300 on the twelfth). Because this quest is usually done third in the chain, expect around 50 rupees plus an extra 20 rupees.
Tips
- Dondons are fed luminous stones, and over time they produce gems and Zonaite.
- A single conversation with Cima completes the quest, so there is no need to visit other stables first.
