Walkthrough
Pick up the bottle on Hateno Beach
The Bottled Letter lies in the shallows of Hateno Bay beside a wrecked boat. Read it: Chumin was caught in a storm while fishing, sheltered in a cave and was trapped by a falling rock. He scattered Brightbloom Seeds into the water to mark the way.

Follow the Brightbloom trail to Mapla Point Cave
Follow the glowing Brightbloom Seeds and flowers floating on the sea. They lead to Mapla Point Cave in the eastern cliffs of Mapla Point. The current is strong, so build a small Zonai raft or boat, or use a flying device to skip the water enemies.

Remove the boulder
Inside the cave, find the rock jammed in the way and use Ultrahand to pull it free. Once the passage is open, Chumin is waiting beyond the opening.

Collect Chumin’s thanks
Talk to Chumin to complete the quest. He gives you 100 rupees for freeing him.

Rewards
You receive 100 rupees from Chumin, given as a Silver Rupee he found on the cave floor (a Silver Rupee is worth 100 rupees). He also mentions selling you fish later, and one guide reports he turns up as a fish seller in Lurelin Village afterwards.
Tips
- The bottle sits in the shallows at the south-western edge of Hateno Bay, around map position 4567, -2244. The floating seeds are hard to spot in handheld mode, so set a map pin on the cave.
- Chumin waits in the smaller second chamber of Mapla Point Cave, by the south-eastern side of the pool. Ore Deposits line the cave walls, and a Bubbulfrog can be reached by using Ascend in the first chamber.
- A quick boat is a plank with a control stick and a fan powered by a battery. A flying Zonai device avoids the current and the water enemies.
