Walkthrough

Get the request

Once Piaffe, Packed Away is done, examine the second empty picture frame in Gerudo Canyon Stable (this quest can be done before or after the first picture). Piaffe now wants a picture of the huge sword stuck into the peak of the mountain in the Gerudo Highlands, and he warns that it is cold up there.

Photograph the Forgotten Sword

Head to the Gerudo Summit using the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower, just to the south (if you have not unlocked it, go through Maedela’s Mantle Cave and Ascend to the tower controls). The sword stands beside the Frost Gleeok in the southern part of the summit; you do not need to fight it, so approach from the side. Bring cold protection such as a Spicy dish or warm clothing. Frame the whole sword so the quest marker shows in the camera view and take the picture, then check that the photo in your Album carries the red exclamation-mark symbol.

Hand the picture to Piaffe

Return to the stable and examine the empty frame again. Piaffe hangs the picture and gives you a Pony Point and a Spicy Mushroom Risotto (Gamer Guides and Zelda Dungeon list Spicy; Thonky lists Chilly Mushroom Risotto). Leave space in your pouch first.

Rewards

  • 1 Pony Point
  • Spicy Mushroom Risotto
  • If this is the second of the two frames you fill, some guides also report a Diamond and five Enduring Carrot Cakes.

Tips

  • You can take the picture while gliding past, so you do not need to land beside the sword.
  • The Gerudo Highlands are freezing, so cook a Spicy dish or drink a Spicy Elixir before you climb.
