Gomo, the Goron who eats at Bedrock Bistro, pays 1,000 rupees for each Ripened Flint. Hand him 20, 50 or 100 Flint and he tastes his way through the batch; the more you give, the likelier a ripened piece is in it.
Walkthrough
Meet Gomo at the table
After you finish Meat for Meat, talk to Gomo, the Goron sitting at the table beside the lava pool near the Bistro. He explains that Ripened Flint looks just like normal flint and can only be told apart by tasting it, and that he pays 1,000 rupees per ripened piece.

Choose how much Flint to hand over
Gomo asks how much you will give him: just 20, a healthy 50, or 100. The more Flint he gets, the better the odds that one piece is ripened. Gamer Guides gives about 20% for 20 Flint, 50% for 50 and a guaranteed piece for 100; other guides call it pure chance and say even 100 can come up empty, so treat 100 as the best bet rather than a certainty. Save before you hand it over so you can try again if he finds nothing.

Collect the payment
If Gomo tastes a Ripened Flint he pays 1,000 rupees on the spot. If not, he tells you “Alas…” and you can bring him more at any time. He pays the same for every ripened piece he finds later. Most guides count the quest as complete once he finds one Ripened Flint; one guide claims 20 are needed, which the others do not support. A Ripened Flint sits in your pouch simply as Flint, so you cannot pick one out yourself.

Rewards
- 1,000 rupees for each Ripened Flint.
Tips
- Flint comes from rocks and ore deposits across Eldin (one guide suggests the ore deposits in Lake Darman Monster Den), so stock up before you go.
- Save before each batch so a failed taste costs nothing.
