Malena’s husband Platt is sick and only Gleeok guts will cure him. Defeat a Gleeok, such as the Flame Gleeok that circles Spectacle Rock in Gerudo Canyon, take its Gleeok Guts and bring them to Malena for a Gold Rupee.

Walkthrough

Talk to Malena

Find Malena and Platt at their tent and campfire on the high ground south-east of Gerudo Canyon Stable, near the base of a tall stone pillar and close to Turakamik Shrine. She explains that her husband fell ill on their wedding adventure and that Gleeok guts are the cure.

Defeat a Gleeok

Fly out to Spectacle Rock (around -2171, -2613; the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower is the quickest way there) and take down the Flame Gleeok that circles it. Save first, because the guts are not a guaranteed drop. Shoot each of its three heads with arrows (Ice Fruit arrows work well against the fiery breath) until they drop it, then attack it on the ground while it is stunned. Repeat until it is defeated. Gleeok Guts is a rare drop from Flame, Frost and Thunder Gleeoks, so you may need to beat another Gleeok, or a King Gleeok, which almost always drops guts. Keese Eyeballs on your arrows add damage and homing. When it drops below about a quarter of its health it throws bigger fireballs and climbs higher: hide behind Spectacle Rock to block the heat and use Bullet Time from your glider for mid-air shots. An attack-boosting armour set helps, and the fight can run several minutes.

Deliver the guts

Return to Malena’s camp with the Gleeok Guts and hand them over. She prepares the medicine at once and Platt recovers.

Rewards

You receive a Gold Rupee, worth 300 rupees.

Tips

  • Keep one Gleeok Guts in your pouch when you pass Spectacle Rock so you are ready to finish the quest.
  • Bring plenty of arrows and healing food; Gleeok attacks hit hard.
