Cooke the chef will not let Mezer leave until he replaces the roast he wasted. Go into West Restaurant Cave, cross the lava with Ultrahand, grab the Marbled Rock Roast and bring it back to Mezer for a Large Zonai Charge.
Walkthrough
Speak to Mezer at Bedrock Bistro
Talk to Mezer at the counter of Bedrock Bistro. Cooke is angry that Mezer left his meal unfinished and will not let him go until the wasted ingredient is replaced. Cooke says the meat comes from a cave past the cart tracks. Depending on whether you have finished Yunobo of Goron City, the ingredient is a Marbled Rock Roast or a plain Rock Roast. Activate the nearby Timawak Shrine while you are here.
Find West Restaurant Cave
Follow the cart tracks beside the Bistro west until you reach a cave entrance with a hot spring in front of it. A chest at the edge of the pool holds a Purple Rupee. Put on Flamebreaker armor or drink a Fireproof Elixir before you go in, because the cave floor is lava (one bar of Flame Guard is enough to enter). If you have neither, the man at the spring teaches the Flameguard Elixir recipe: a Fireproof Lizard plus four monster parts, which you can brew at the pot by the cave entrance.
Cross the lava with Ultrahand
Inside, a lava pool blocks the back of the cave. Glide across to the ledge with stairs on the east side, where a set of Hydrants sits in the ruins. Take one with Ultrahand back to the lava and switch it on: the water cools the lava into a path. You can also use Ultrahand to lift the roast across, then walk over before your Flame Guard runs out. A Bubbulfrog on a cave wall drops a Bubbul Gem, so break it on the way.
Grab the roast and take it back
Pick up the Marbled Rock Roast (or Rock Roast) lying on the floor at the far end of the cave, and consider taking a second one for the next Bistro quest. For a fast trip back, attach a fan to a mine cart with Ultrahand, climb on and ride the tracks to Bedrock Bistro. Hand the roast to Mezer at the counter and he gives it to Cooke.
Rewards
- Large Zonai Charge, from Mezer (make room in your pouch first).
- A Purple Rupee from the chest outside and a Bubbul Gem from inside the cave.
Tips
- Finish this quest first: Gomo’s flint quest (Cash In on Ripened Flint) and Cooke’s Rock Roast or Dust quest at the same restaurant open afterwards.
- Mezer then sets off to hunt a rumoured beast, which turns out to be a Dondon.
- Bring spare Fireproof Elixirs, because the Flame Guard timer is short if you stop to build.
