Symin at Hateno School wants a lesson on Monster Curry. Cook a dish with Goron Spice, Hylian Rice and Monster Extract and serve it to the class during school hours. Monster Extract is sold in Tarrey Town, north of Hateno Village. Symin only takes the lesson while class is in session, roughly 9 AM to 2 PM.

Walkthrough

Talk to Symin after Teach Me a Lesson I

Finish Teach Me a Lesson I (handing in the photo of the Calamity screen at Paya’s hall unlocks the second lesson), then talk to Symin in the Hateno School classroom while classes are in session. He explains that the class should learn to cook with monster extract and sends you for the ingredients.

Cook Monster Curry

Buy Goron Spice (16 rupees) at the general store in Goron City, pick up Hylian Rice (the first lesson gives you some, and Hateno’s general store sells it) and buy Monster Extract (50 rupees) from the general store in Tarrey Town; one guide names Fyson at the Slippery Falcon as the seller, so check both. You only need one of each ingredient. Put all three in a cooking pot, such as a portable pot outside the school, to make Monster Curry; add nothing else or the recipe changes.

Serve the curry to the class

Return to the classroom during school hours and talk to Symin (between 9 AM and 2 PM) with the curry in your inventory. The children taste it, the lesson is a success and Symin accepts you as a teacher, which lets you use the school field.

Rewards

  • Permission to use the school field; talk to Uma afterwards to start Uma’s Garden and plant crops there.

Tips

  • If the school is closed, sleep at the inn until midday and try again.
