Rotana, a Gerudo archaeologist in Gerudo Shelter, wants pictures of the stelae hidden around the shelter, which tell the story of the seven Gerudo heroines. Find and photograph all four, then talk to her to keep her orb.

Talk to Rotana
Reach Gerudo Shelter by shoving the Sand Seal statue behind the throne aside with Ultrahand and dropping through the hole, then speak to Rotana beside the glowing stela on the main floor, near the market stalls. She cannot read the stelae she has not seen and asks you to find the rest and photograph them with the Camera.
Photograph the four stelae
Search the shelter and take a picture of each stela with the Camera: one in the passage behind Rotana’s room, one half-hidden on a column and wall (frame both halves from the back-left corner), one in the sleeping quarters, and one in the corridor under a pile of sand. Clear away any rubble or sand that covers a stela before you take the picture. Guides describe the four slightly differently: smash the rocks behind and to the left of Rotana; break the pots in the nook of the sleeping quarters and Ascend up into the alcove; stand where the cracked stela in the “Voe and You” classroom looks whole (the class is open only in the evening, so sleep at the inn if it is closed); and in the corridor beyond, lift the broken stela piece out of the sand pile with Ultrahand and fit it back on. Some guides place one in the jail instead, reached by Ascending up from the storage cubby by the bar, where the picture must be taken before you talk to the guard.
Show Rotana your pictures
Return to Rotana. She reads the inscriptions, explains that statues of the heroines stand deep in the shelter, and lets you use her orb.
Rewards
You receive 100 rupees (per most guides) and may keep and use Rotana’s orb, one of the orbs placed in the heroine statues’ arms to uncover the full mystery. This opens The Mysterious Eighth once you leave the shelter.
