Walkthrough

Talk to Walton

Walton sits on top of the Great Deku Tree. He explains that he set up a treasure hunt for the other Koroks and wants you to test that the items are hidden well enough. Accept to start the hunt. His first clue is that the Forest Dweller’s Sword and Spear are hidden above the tree’s face.

Find the sword and spear

Climb the bark behind Walton and walk along the top of the tree. The Forest Dweller’s Sword is sticking out along the edge, and the Forest Dweller’s Spear lies on the bark ledge ringing the grassy area where you met Walton, partly hidden by a large limb. You need a free melee weapon slot for each of them, so drop or use up weapons beforehand. Take both back to Walton.

Find the shield

Walton’s second clue is that the Forest Dweller’s Shield is below the tree’s face. Go down to the lower part of the Great Deku Tree, into the area with the shops, and look above the archway before you pass through it. Grab the shield with Ultrahand and bring it down.

Collect the bow

Show the shield to Walton. He congratulates you on his hiding places and gives you the Forest Dweller’s Bow as the prize; make space in your bow slots first, or he will ask you to come back.
