Gralens of the monster-control crew has located a Stone Talus at North Akkala Foothill. Break the glowing ore on its body with bomb flowers or a hammer, defeat it, then go back to Gralens in the Emergency Shelter at Lookout Landing for a Silver Rupee.
Walkthrough
Defeat the Stone Talus
Travel to North Akkala Foothill, north-west of East Akkala Stable (fast travel to Jochi-iu Shrine, then head west and slightly north to a small pool; the rocks in the pool are the Stone Talus). It may stay dormant until you get close. Approach the Stone Talus from the side. Dodge its stomps and punches and climb onto it. The gem deposit (geode) on its body is its only weak point, so only hits on that spot hurt it; you can also Ascend up through its body to reach the deposit. Bomb Flowers on arrows or a hammer swung at the deposit make short work of it. When it falls it leaves stone drops.
Report to Gralens
Warp or ride back to Lookout Landing and climb down the stone shaft in the middle of the camp to the Emergency Shelter. If you have not yet accepted the hunt, ask Gralens about Big Monsters and then the Stone Talus first; he marks its location. Talk to Gralens at the map table and tell him which monster you took down. He pays you a Silver Rupee (100 rupees) for the Stone Talus.
Rewards
You receive a Silver Rupee (100 rupees).
Tips
- Gralens’s other monster hunts report to the same table, so you can clear several in one trip.
- Stone Talus drops include Amber, Opal and Topaz, which you can sell or use for fusing.
