The style is a clear nod to the original 1998 campaign, but one of its most notorious lines is gone. The UK ads once asked, “Willst thou get the girl? Or play like one?” More than 70 viewers complained to the Independent Television Commission, which acknowledged the phrase’s sexist overtones but did not uphold the complaints. Nintendo’s new spot swaps that gendered taunt for “Willst thou flee? Or fight?” and “Gather thy courage.”
This is a mood piece, not a new gameplay showcase. Nintendo’s October overview trailer is where the company outlined what the remake adds, including overhauled visuals, voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, symphonic music, and new ways to use the ocarina.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5.
