A photo shared by Genki_JPN on X shows the remake’s download card, now appearing in Japanese stores, with the storage requirement printed on it. For anyone planning to buy digitally, the cards provide another confirmation of how much room to prepare ahead of launch.
The figure matches Nintendo’s eShop listing, which puts the Switch 2 remake at an estimated 27 GB. Having the same number on retail cards adds weight to that listing, although Nintendo still identifies the online figure as an estimate and notes that preorder download sizes may change.

At 27 GB, the game would occupy a little over a tenth of the Switch 2’s advertised 256 GB of internal storage. The actual space available for games is lower because the console reserves a portion for system use, but players with room to spare should be able to fit Link’s adventure without adding a memory card.
If your digital library has already filled the console, additional game storage requires a microSD Express card. Standard microSD cards used with the original Switch cannot store or load downloaded Switch 2 games.
The return to Hyrule brings overhauled visuals, voiced cutscenes, expanded dialogue, and orchestral music, alongside enhanced controls and modern camera movement. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 5, 2026.
