About
A passionate collector!
Extreme Zelda Fan
Hi! My name is Alan. If I had to describe myself in a few words, I would say that I am a passionate collector.
Collecting has so many facets that it would be incorrect to say a collection ends once you acquire everything you’ve been looking for. If there is anything more exciting than finally getting an item you’ve sought for years, it is acquiring one you didn’t even know existed.
For me, collecting Zelda items represents an exciting quest into the unknown—seeking out objects that aren't necessarily expensive in commercial terms, but rather carry historical significance. With that mindset, I have acquired unique items over the years—neither cheap nor pricey, simply unique.
These range from autographs by the Japanese voice actors who brought Link (Nobuyuki Hiyama – Ocarina of Time) and Zelda (Yuu Shimamura – Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Age of Calamity) to life, to the discovery of a VHS tape containing never-before-shared footage: a beta trailer for the canceled Mystical Seed project and a beta trailer for Majora’s Mask that still used the Ocarina of Time graphics engine—where the Moon didn't yet have its terrifying face. Throughout my twenty-year collecting journey, I’ve learned that opportunities to acquire an exceptional item rarely come around twice.
I also undertook a more personal challenge that took nine years to complete: getting the Mexican voice actors who worked on Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom to sign my Breath of the Wild Master Edition box. It was fun to see their expressions when I’d pull out that massive box and tell them about the project. After nine years, the challenge was finally complete—including the signatures of Mexican voice actors who have since passed away. Without meaning to sound arrogant, I’d wager that this is the only Master Edition in Mexico signed by the entire Mexican voice-acting cast.
Along the way, I received negative comments claiming I had devalued the Master Edition, that the signatures weren't worth much, and so on; but for me, this was never about money. It is my way of acknowledging the immense talent of Mexico’s voice actors—who, sadly, are not well compensated for the great work they do.
I turned 40 last month, and my enthusiasm for this saga is still going strong. I don’t know when I might need to take my life in a new direction, but until that day comes, I’ll keep showing my passion for this saga in the best way I know how: through photography.
I created my Instagram account—@aitsui_zcollector—in 2018, where I’ve gradually posted photos of my acquisitions. It’s incredible that eight years have passed and I’m only just reaching 400 posts. I don’t consider myself an influencer or a content creator; I’m just a passionate collector who posts whenever there’s something interesting to share.
Thank you for reading this far. If you have the chance to visit my Instagram account, I would really appreciate it! =)
