Nintendo is giving Zelda collectors another reason to check their Platinum Point balance.
A new Nintendo Classics: The Legend of Zelda desktop metal display has joined the My Nintendo rewards lineup in North America, featuring the familiar gold package artwork from the original NES release of The Legend of Zelda.

The reward costs 1,000 Platinum Points and is exclusive to paid Nintendo Switch Online members. Like other physical My Nintendo rewards, it is only available while supplies last.
The display itself is fairly simple, which works in its favor. Nintendo has reproduced the original North American box art on a metal panel measuring approximately 5 inches wide by 7.125 inches tall. It slots into a black acrylic base with the My Nintendo logo etched into the front.
For anyone who grew up with the NES game, it is instantly recognizable. The gold box, Link kneeling with his sword and shield, and the large Hylian shield artwork have become some of the most recognizable imagery from the earliest days of the series.
Nintendo notes that the metal panel ships with protective film on both sides, so collectors will want to remove that before putting it on display. The company also warns that the panel’s metal edges can be sharp and should be handled carefully.
Another Zelda collectible arrives during the 40th anniversary
The timing is particularly appropriate. Nintendo is currently celebrating 40 years of The Legend of Zelda, following the series’ original Japanese debut in 1986.
Nintendo kicked its anniversary plans into a much higher gear during the September 8 Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, revealing a new Ocarina of Time remake, anniversary Nintendo Switch 2 hardware and accessories, concerts, Nintendo Museum activities and several other projects stretching into 2027.
The new My Nintendo display is considerably smaller than most of those announcements, but it is also one of the few anniversary-era collectibles built specifically around the game that started everything.
Nintendo currently lists the display alongside its other Zelda products for 1,000 Platinum Points. A paid Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to redeem it.
Nintendo also added a Virtual Boy glasses case to My Nintendo at the same time. That reward costs 800 Platinum Points and uses a design inspired by Nintendo’s unusual red-and-black 1995 console. It is also restricted to Nintendo Switch Online members.

With Nintendo steadily rolling out new merchandise around Zelda’s 40th anniversary, this is probably one collectors will want to grab before the reward disappears from the My Nintendo catalog.
