Watchers of the Triforce is the last scenario of the Wind Waker story and of Legend Mode. In the Wind and Earth Temples you capture four Sage Keeps to stop Phantom Ganon’s lightning, defeat Gohma and Manhandla, and then bring down Phantom Ganon with Cia’s help. Capturing Rock Keep along the way earns King Daphnes his Swift Sail.

Before you start

All four warriors are selectable, so bring the ones you want collectibles with: King Daphnes for the Heart Container, Link for the Piece of Heart and Tetra for the Hard Gold Skulltula. You need the Hammer item, which you earned in the first Wind Waker scenario, to open the paths to two of the Sage Keeps. Being well levelled helps a lot against Phantom Ganon, and it is fine to clear the story on an easier difficulty first and return for the Hard Gold Skulltula in Free Mode.

Capture the Sage Keeps

Why they matter

Phantom Ganon’s power makes lightning strike all over the temples and drains your forces and Cia. Each Sage Keep you capture changes the floor pattern from an evil mark into a Triforce emblem, and when all four are yours the lightning stops and the sealed doors open. Defend them afterwards, because if you lose them the lightning returns.

Northwest and southeast keeps

The northwest and southeast Sage Keeps can be reached directly, so take these first. Clear the Big Poes and Stone Blins around them before capturing.

Northeast and southwest keeps

The northeast and southwest keeps sit at a different height, so you need to open the way with the Hammer. In the southwest, pound the switch by the stone statues so that light destroys them and exposes a Hookshot platform. In the northeast, pound the switch in front of the lowered platform so that trees grow and raise it. When the northeast switch is hit, a Messenger heads for the northeast keep to call reinforcements, so capture the keep before it arrives.

Gohma and Manhandla

With the lightning gone, Lana asks you to meet Cia at the Allied Base, and Phantom Ganon powers up the monsters in the central area. Fight through them, and defeat Gohma and Manhandla as they attack your Sage Keeps. Hit their weak points when you get the chance, and rush to any keep that is about to fall.

This is the last scenario of Legend Mode, so replay any earlier scenario in Free Mode to pick up the collectibles you missed, for example Reclaiming the Darkness, where King Daphnes’ Piece of Heart waits.
