The Girl in the Green Tunic is the first scenario of Linkle’s Tale and takes place in Faron Woods. You play as Linkle, who loses her magic compass to Skull Kid and chases him through the forest to get it back. You win by catching and beating Skull Kid, and you lose if your Allied Base falls. It opens after you clear The Sorceress of the Woods. The next Linkle’s Tale scenario, Powers Collide, comes later in the story, after The Water Temple.

Before you start

Linkle is the only warrior available, so there is nothing to pick. She fights with crossbows, which hit at range and are handy against the Big Poes and Stalchildren that Skull Kid sends. Cuccos fight on your side. Because every collectible here needs Linkle, you can go for all of them in a single run.

Chase Skull Kid through Faron Woods

Eastern Tree Keep and North Square

Fight your way to the Eastern Tree Keep, where Skull Kid taunts you on the way and then teleports to the Eastern Tree. Capture the keep, then continue to the North Square Keep. A Gatekeeper appears there and controls the gates, so defeat it to open the way. Reaching the North Square Keep is also how you earn the Piece of Heart.

Cucco Chick side missions

While you fight, Cucco Chicks appear looking for food. Guide each one to its Feeding Grounds and defend it from attackers on the way. A chick that eats enough grows into a Gold Cucco and joins your side. Helping all three is the condition for the Hard or Hero Gold Skulltula.
