Sealed Ambition is the second Skyward Sword battle. At the Sealed Grounds you open the temple, root out the traitors in your own ranks, topple The Imprisoned with the cannons in the Cannon Keeps and defeat Ghirahim to close this era’s Gate of Souls.

Before you start

You can use Link or Fi. Link is the one for the Piece of Heart and the Hard Gold Skulltula, while Fi is needed for the Heart Container, so plan on a replay. For the Skulltula, equip a Magic Rod such as the Fire Rod on Link. It is also timed, so keep your pace up.

Open the temple and stop the traitors

Defeat the east Gatekeeper

The temple to the north is shut. Fi works out that defeating the Gatekeeper in the east should open it. Go there and beat him; the first objective is to defeat the East Temple Gatekeeper, and capturing the East Keep follows. The temple only opens part way, so more work remains.

Defeat the Turncoat Leader

New soldiers join your side, and then some of them turn on you. Fight the Turncoat Soldiers, then look for the Turncoat Leader, who is hiding in the West Keep. Beating him ends the mutiny and sends the rest of the traitors into retreat, which also helps the Hard Gold Skulltula timer.

The Imprisoned boss fight

Ghirahim then summons The Imprisoned from the Sealing Spike in the center of the field. It lumbers toward your keeps and the Allied Base. Destroy its toes to stun it, then attack while it is down.

The West Cannon Keep has a Keep Boss and a cannon. When The Imprisoned flies up to wreck that keep, run into it and use the Groosenator cannon to knock it out of the air and stun it. It then heads for the East Cannon Keep, where the second cannon deals heavy damage; defeat it there. Capturing the East Cannon Keep also gives you a Sealed Weapon, the White Sword.

Ghirahim boss fight

Between the two fights a side mission asks you to stop the Assault Troopers heading for the Allied Base. Then Ghirahim opens every temple door and sends his army out east and west. Fi and the Gorons intercept them while you go straight into the temple and fight Ghirahim in the Enemy Base. Defeat him, then follow Fi’s instruction to close the Gate of Souls and end the battle.

Defeat 1,000 enemies on any difficulty. Head north from the Southeast Keep to a cave hidden by a Wall of Vines; cut it down with the Boomerang.

Only on Hard or Hero. Play as Link with a Magic Rod such as the Fire Rod. Stop The Imprisoned from destroying any keep and open the Enemy Base, and defeat the Turncoat Soldiers and The Imprisoned quickly. Finish all of this within 10 minutes. It appears on the east wall of the East Temple Keep.
