Powers Collide is the second scenario of Linkle’s Tale. Volga attacks Lake Hylia while Ruto and Darunia stand guard, and Linkle wanders into the fight. To win, you get three Goron Engineers to the Water Temple gate, break up the Lizalfos and Dinolfos assault, walk Darunia’s forces to the Enemy Base and beat Volga. Clearing it opens The Demon Lord’s Plan, and it holds a Heart Container that only Ruto can take.

Before you start

You begin as Linkle, so a crossbow with a good combo string is enough for the whole battle. Ruto fights alongside you and you can switch to her during the battle, which matters because her Heart Container is the only collectible here that Linkle cannot take. You can grab it on your first run if you swap to Ruto in time, or come back later through a Legend Mode replay or Free Mode. Bring a few healing items for the finale.

Escort the Goron Engineers

Early on Darunia seals his troops inside the Water Temple and accidentally breaks the door, and Ruto asks you to find a way in. Three Goron Engineers appear and offer to repair it, but they only work if you get them there alive. The objective reads “Escort all Engineers to the destination!” Stay close to each Engineer, clear the Bokoblins in their path, and deliver all three to the temple entrance. When the last one arrives you get “Engineers opened the temple’s front gate!” and Darunia can join your side.

Stop the Lizalfos and Dinolfos assault

Defend the Allied Base

After the gate opens, the Lizalfos and Dinolfos Chieftains force the Temple East Gate and send a column toward your Allied Base, led by Dinolfos. Intercept the column and defeat the Dinolfos leading it (the objective reads “Defeat the Dinolfos!”), because that breaks the rush and lets Darunia’s forces keep advancing. If you ignore it, the Allied Base can fall, which ends the scenario in defeat.
