The Invasion Begins puts you in Hyrule Field as Cia’s generals Wizzro and Volga, hunting the last fairies while Lana and the Gorons defend them. You win by opening the field gates, stopping the Goron Captains from reaching the castle, and defeating Impa so that Zelda falls back. The scenario hides a Heart Container, a Piece of Heart and two Gold Skulltulas, and clearing it opens The Usurper King.

Before you start

Collectibles are split between the two warriors: Wizzro for the Heart Container and the Hard or Hero Gold Skulltula, Volga for the Piece of Heart. Replay the scenario with the other warrior to collect both. Bring Bombs, since the Heart Container and the 1,000-KO Gold Skulltula are under boulders, and use weapons that clear crowds, because the open field fills with Goron and Hylian soldiers. Open the field gates

The gates start shut. Capture the W. Rockface Keep or the East Field Keep to open them, whichever is closer, and defeat the keep boss on the way. Lana pushes north on her own and opens the other gate when she attacks.

Stop the Goron Captains

Lana sends Goron Captains toward Hyrule Castle to call for reinforcements, and Cia orders you to stop them. Check the map for their markers and cut them off before they reach the Castle Keep. Every one that gets through brings more help for Zelda later.

Lana is an optional opponent. Defeat her when she advances and she retreats from the field, swearing to beat Cia. Fight her up close and step out of her spell areas.

Impa and Zelda boss fight

Zelda arrives next and rallies the Hyrulean Forces, opening their keeps. Thin out the Hylian Captains as they advance, and when Impa steps in to intercept you, defeat her. Her retreat breaks Hylian morale and the Castle Keep gate partly opens as Zelda advances. If you take too long with Zelda, Impa returns, so move on her quickly.

Once Impa falls the objective becomes Defeat Zelda. Zelda withdraws into the castle to regroup, and the scenario ends as the Hylian line collapses, so keep clearing soldiers along the castle road.
