Two leafy Deku Scrubs on the edge of Scrubton are so scared of a Mothula swarm that they have buried themselves in the ground. Head into the jungle of southeast Faron Wetlands, let a strong melee echo shred the moths, and report back. It is a short fight with no puzzle attached, and it pays out a Might Crystal toward your Sword, Bow, Bomb and energy upgrades.
How to Start
On the paved path at the edge of Scrubton, between the carved wooden Deku statues, you will see an “Eeeep…” speech bubble coming from the grass. Two scrubs are hiding underground there. Use Bind on one to pull it up (“Why’d you pluck me? Couldn’t you see I was hiding?”). It explains that it was hiding from the leaf eaters: “If they eat all my leaves, I’ll go pale…and I’ll wilt…” After some sniffling (After some sniffling, the other scrub warns you:ldquo;*sniff* Sorry…After some sniffling, the other scrub warns you:rdquo;), the scrubs warn you: “Look. If you go into the jungle, watch out for a swarm of Mothulas!” They ran into them in southeast Faron Wetlands, where the moths attacked them and munched on their leaves. The Mobbing Mothulas! side-quest banner appears, with a Destination marker on your map.

Walkthrough
Step 1: Travel to southeast Faron Wetlands
Open the map: the Mobbing Mothulas! marker sits in the jungle south-east of Scrubton. The quickest way is to warp to the waypoint nearest the marker, which drops you on a paved path among the palms. From there the way to the swarm is cut by a deep, dark gully. Summon a Cloud echo, hop on and ride it across. On the far side the ground opens up into a grassy clearing full of thick shrubs and tall grass.

Step 2: Defeat the Mothula swarm
The swarm is a group of purple, winged Mothulas fluttering low among the shrubs. They dive at you, so don’t stand in the open and trade blows. Summon your strongest close-range echo (a Darknut Lv. 3 makes short work of them) and stay close behind it while it swings at the moths; it keeps them busy so they are not diving at you. The fight ends when the last Mothula is gone, and the Mobbing Mothulas! – Quest Updated notice pops up on the right of the screen.

Step 3: Report back to the scrubs
Warp or walk back to the same path in Scrubton. The scrubs have dug themselves back in (“It’s all over…”), so Bind one out again. They are busy saying goodbye (“My only regret…is not drinking more smoothies…”) and getting ready for “the big vegetable patch in the sky”, until they realise what you have done: “You d-defeated the Mothulas?!” Their leaves are safe, and one shouts “WE’RE GONNA LIVE!” before thanking you: “You’ve been a good friend to the Deku Scrubs. Here, have this!”

Reward
The message reads “You got a might crystal! You can use it for enhancements at Lueburry’s home.” The scrubs add “Thanks for saving us!” and “I love being alive!”, and the Side Quest Complete banner appears with the Might Crystal counter in the corner. Take your crystals to the machine in Lueburry’s House in Suthorn Forest to raise the level of the Sword, Bow and Bombs of Might and your Swordfighter energy gauge; see All Might Crystal Locations for the rest.

Tips
- Listen for the “Eeeep…” bubble on the Scrubton path. The scrubs are invisible until you Bind them out of the ground, both to start the quest and to finish it.
- A Darknut echo clears the swarm almost on its own. The Darknut Lv. 3 echo is learned in the ruins near Scrubton, in the room where you also find the Spin Brace.
- Pack Cloud echoes before you warp: the gully between the waypoint and the swarm can’t be crossed on foot.
- While you are in Scrubton, the quest givers for Looking for Bempu, Cotton-Candy Hunt and The Rain-Making Monster are all close by.
