Majora’s Mask

Majora’s Mask is a one-defence mask from the Master Trials DLC that makes common enemies less likely to notice you. It sits in a chest buried in rubble at Kolomo Garrison Ruins; read the journal at Outpost Ruins, then use Magnesis to pull the chest out of the ground.

How to find it

Read the journal

Warp to the Great Plateau Tower and glide east to Outpost Ruins (x -247, z 1675, map square E-6). The journal lies inside the southernmost building of the ruins. Reading it starts the Ancient Mask quest.

Follow the clue

The note places the mask at the ruins where soldiers gathered, with the waters of Lake Kolomo in view. That points to Kolomo Garrison Ruins, on the shore of Lake Kolomo a little north-west of Outpost Ruins and north of the Great Plateau Tower.

Pull the chest out

The treasure chest is half-buried in rubble somewhere around the ruined buildings; guides place it at slightly different spots, such as beside the corner of the largest building or along the outer wall. Sweep the area with Magnesis, draw the chest out of the ground and open it to receive Majora’s Mask.

What it does

Wearing it lets you walk up to enemies such as Bokoblins, Moblins and Lizalfos, and their skeleton versions, without them reacting. Lynels are less wary of you but attack after a while, and Keese ignore the effect and can alert nearby monsters. The disguise breaks if you attack and a monster notices.

Notes

  • Its in-game description warns that a sold mask cannot be replaced, so keep it.
  • It cannot be upgraded at a Great Fairy Fountain or dyed.
