About This Game

LAS Recomp is an unofficial project that brings the 2019 Nintendo Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening to Windows, macOS, and Linux through static recompilation. Instead of running the game in an emulator, LAS Recomp creates a native desktop version from the game code supplied by the player. It supports keyboard and controller input, remappable controls, adjustable resolution, and wider aspect ratios that reveal more of Koholint Island.

The project also includes a built-in randomizer, with options to shuffle items, dungeon entrances, enemies, music, and dungeon rooms. Players can generate and save seeds, track checks on the map, and switch between a standard playthrough and a randomizer seed from the app. LAS Recomp is still in beta, so bugs, crashes, unsolvable seeds, and visual issues may occur. The download does not include Nintendo’s game files or assets; players need to provide their own legally obtained copy of Link’s Awakening for Nintendo Switch. LAS Recomp is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo.
